  1. i think you may have to increase your price range a touch, most of the cheap ones have already been bought, but...............if i were you i would go on fuelwoods site (others are available) as soon as the royal show is over, or just after any other show and click on the specials, richard always takes in trade ins and you can always buy one with or without a service. he alsosells machines for other people. worth a look and definatly a ring, they are very helpful, but i think you may have to go up to 5k for a processer
  2. hi mate.

bulk bags......... well take a chance, but yes the centers dont dry to well and do go mouldy but it does depend on the wood you put in and the moisture content of it, as well as the time of year and the amount of air flow around the bags.

they are not crap but they are not the best things since sliced bread either

  3. it may be like the beech tre which maximises the light availability where it will try not to grow leaves where ther is too much shade. saw it on a program...think it was the private life of plants
  4. yeah , i remember reading it in the mag
  5. was'nt that all the wind blown timber from SODKA in sweden a few years ago??
  6. if you got kids, or even if you have'nt, you have to see this film, not just because it is soo funny, but because the 3D effects are soo good saw a 3D film at Legoland a few years ago but this one was amazing. dont know how good it will be on dvd, but dont miss the chance to see it on the big screen. in the first few sceens when the leaves were floating towards us the whole cinema went WOW. dont miss it.
  7. really, i thought you went in the neighbouring tent:sneaky2:
  8. nah it was crappy poplar.... chipped all fluffy, stringy and black. did turn the rest of the pile into firewood though
  9. is this what you want stevie???????
  10. got both a thor and a wood line and had koler, honda and b&s engines woodline is faster than thor for splitting worry less about the engines as they will last forever, they are only turning a hydrolic pump and arent under much pressure, never had any probs with the engines. worry more about the build quality of the splitter, both of the above are built very well, some others are not as lucky...... you get what you pay for!!! imo
  11. 360/361....same saws with small differences!!! imo
  12. how did you manage to insure the wood????
  13. well i'll support the 361, its all ive used for 8 years now and would still be on my first one if had'nt got pinched. good alround saw, light and easy on fuel. 18" bar is ideal as not to long to sharpen when hit metal or stone in wood. good luck with your choice, but it is all personal preference
  14. will that really get you through the winter???
  15. nowt wrong with softwood, i,v got some customers who specificly ask for it. Best firewood you can get is what you get for free, 2nd best is the driest!!!!!!! larch, cedar and pine are great to burn in a stove, spruce maybe not so good but does give off good heat. as timber prices rise....and they are reaching record levels, then choices will change, after all its all about money
  16. must admit i was impressed with the cedar just for huck..... i did see pound signs when i looked at it too!!!! hope it dies befor its felled....still got a heart!
  17. it is a pyrography burner. i got mine from axminster but lost it in a separation. you cant (well i couldnt at the time) get the really good one in britain. i did get mine from axminster power tools and it cost close to £100 best advice is to contact someone who already does it.
  18. yeah, but i was born with a heart and a conscience!!!!!!!!
  19. spent the weekend at Woburn Abbey and saw These 2 beauties what do you think? 1st is dead and propped up with clematis growing and the 2nd is in the deer park
  20. does anyone have any views on these cranes and trailers sold by M. Large i,m looking at changing some equipment round and looking for a timber trailer and crane
  21. pay peanuts..........you get monkeys.....ideal!!!!
  22. ooooohhh if only you were'nt so far away:001_cool:
  23. apparently "yes" if it is for business but not if it is private also if going over 50km from home. but its a saturday so dont worry, dont think vosa work on weekends:sneaky2:
  24. used 2 way radio for the same reson as you john, was a while ago when i worked for LA, we found we knew where every taxi was going and how nice the girls looked on the routes they were travelling. the radios picked up everything. have phoned someone with a bluetooth set and whilst he was driving a bobcat the whole conversation was very clear
