  1. i covered mine with dpm on top to stop rain ingress and shade netting on the sides to stop uv rays, bags still in good nick but that is hasstle so changed to rylock and only need to cover the tops
  2. just keep the bags out of direct sunlight and rain or they will degrade
  3. thanks for the advice seems to be a varience here on timing, but looks like i got the easy one
  4. i think thats the first thing to say isnt it?
  5. hey taff. who do you work for?

    areb they busy?

  6. if you have never crane fed brash into a small chipper you will not realise that you have to crush it with the grabs first if feeding a large quantity into the hopper. trust me, i got a 5-400 and you need to crush or feed smaller uncrushed quantity. good luck with the ibc idea, let us all know how that works out for you
  7. as long as its my chipper your after and not wanting my wood:001_tt1:

  8. ok guys. getting married 21st march, so big day not far away. thats if i survive the stag weekend. obviously a speech will be served on the poor guests, so anyone got any tips on what to say and what to include? jokes welcome! appriciate it if we could stay on topic please....................not nervous at all
  9. its a ripoff version of arbtalk where people want to show off to friends they already know and see how popular they are

  10. yeah i got a friend... is this arbtalk facebook then?

  11. taken a long time to get there but worth it
  12. cant keep up with demand as it is now. that chain happens here now and i am the end guy with the wood. although the coal men are now chimney sweeps and stove repair guys now too, just waiting for them to start tarmacing drives aswell:sneaky2:
  13. no smoking allowed anywhere here too when worked for the council all office staff have to clock out and in again for fag breaks...too right too in my opinion
  14. did think of a couple to be built to spell WOOD
  15. some one pm me the other day for that too a customers old man built it for him as he was pretty handy and as a one off, he reconned it would cost around 300-350 quid. apprently the rolling was not cheap have looked into getting some built but not many fabricators are that keen to do it
  16. look in thread of log storage, page 2 in firewood forum, can stack 3 high and real easy to repair
  17. mouldy?? what your customers doing with them, eating them or burning them?? seriously though i use those bags and have now gone away from them to using rylock fencing on pallets...personal choice
  18. nah mate, they are staying with you, easy pickings over there apparently
  19. filmed in south wales in abegavenny and newport (welsh tcc site actually) and yes it is a fat bloke. they even get dan to climb a tree and he dont like heights
  20. you feel ripped off... buy a firewood processor then. to be honest though, if you cant afford your safety gear there must be a problem within the business. work out your expenses over the year, divide it by the amount of workable days, add on your profit margin and then work out your hourly rate........ too cheap on your pricing or are your expenses too high????
  21. smaller, and less or no demos camping is the best part.....if they stop that i wont go at all, camped there every year since it moved from newbury
  22. untill you can take the cold no more!!!!!
  23. sorry buzz, i should've mentioned that i crane feed the brash in, so we do stuff the opening quite full. there is no problem with the machine, it just should not be crane fed! excellent machine for biomass. paid £18000 new. there was one in forestry journal for sale
  24. tried it, tested it, used it, abused it. does what it says on the tin. if putting a tractor on the trailer, then make sure the ramps are secured properly, they have a habit of vibrating off when tractor is on top side of trailer, riko did modify that to stop it happening. all in all very good for what it is designed for how much commision did you say for a good review?????
  25. got a hm5-400 3pt linkage, its only a 16" but it does work well, easy to maintain and change blades (5 blades are only £10 each) and good aftersales from fuelwood, never delt with ac price. for wood fuel it is good for a specific size chip and is fairly fast, but for tree surgeons they find it slow on the brash, but it is actually quite fast. it just does not have enough weight in the top roller to break the brash down when feeding, but price do an add on for that. oh heavy machine that one is 2.5 ton and we need a front weight when on the road to balance. i quite like it an prefrer it over the junkari and farmi chippers. just dont get used enough.
