  1. got a 1x42 greenspeed. its good i thought all processers had belts somewhere or another, both my japa and hakki have them and hydrolics
  2. please do!! and then i will send it on to some of the pain in the arse numpty customers i have. this year i charge for deliveries on sat afternoons and sundays ( as someones note read.... money cant buy you time:biggrin:..)
  3. you really need to see the picture that accompanied the story. the pic was of a really old vermeer (i think) with no safety bars what so ever looked dodgy!! pic may not have been of the actual site though
  4. good idea, but, not all hardwoods are slow burning, i've burnt pine and sycamore side by side and the pine lasted longer both the same size.
  5. why not??? should'nt we be pushing softwood as a product, as hardwood becomes increasingly scarse and pricy
  6. good luck with the hardwood, its in high demand and short supply i'm trying to get my customers onto softwood......... gona happen sooner or later
  7. no! wont be there. i'll be off kayaking. good venue though, on site camping so better than bute park
  8. what editing software would you reccommend????
  9. i always try to split the rings in half to speed up the drying and try not to leave them round....every little helps
  10. chainsaw evry time. have got both, and prefer the chainsaw, its cheaper to maintain. back up......M.Large and Fuelwood are excellent, cant fault either of them for service and telephone help
  11. what do you wear when you kayak surf? is it a dry suit or wetsuit and kag?
  12. nothing wrong with bone dry softwood, gives good heat i sell fresh wood for £50-55/m3
  13. could'nt fit into a Z.one, but managed to get a pyranha I3 in exchange for some firewood. looking to do kayak surfing though and currently doing 2* training
  14. steve, i charge £65 for a m3, 2 other companies by me charge £75/m3 i'll charge what i think i can get, but in jan when i have dry wood i can charge what i like i have bought in 75 ton of softwood this year, processes and dries quicker, sell a little cheaper..............and in jan when its all that is dry, sell for what i want i work hard for my money, so i want good money, IMO i think you are a little on the cheap side with your price! put your price up, if it dont sell by end dec i'll be surprised, if you still got it in feb it'll be the driest wood around
  15. hmmmm, if only i could get paid like that!!! you the man Dave, you the man:001_cool:
  16. i can relate to the above, but some do ask me if can give them a basic training lesson, and yes they are going to go and do it ayway. i would like to weld, but would not use one withoult being shown first, i dont want to a full course, as i only need to do small occasional stuff. but i want to be safe. this is the same as most of my customers (for chainsaws, not welding)
  17. yep. thats why i see a money making opertunity. its just the libility thing that i see as a mine field.
  18. i agree, but there will come a time when they stop using it. if no ppe then does it matter??????????
  19. why not stick a hook loader on it for good measure too
  20. to be honest dave, if they cant use the saw safely and wear the right gear, then i aint gonna teach them how to sharpen it
  21. phwoor. now your asking, i would think it depends ont the brand of splitter, most sales agents should be able to tel you
  22. it will also run a kindla or splitter from fuelwood, but does need to be 20lt/pm like huck said
  23. the thing is they still go and buy a chainsaw, when i ask them if they got the ppe they say no, it'll be ok. i'll be careful. i reply with... so how much can you buy a new leg for then???
  24. thats the thing though steve, i do know how to use a chainsaw and have trained before,
