  1. So when is this one going to appear on The Discovery Channel?
  2. just a little job for today but seeing as it was persisting with precipitation upon commencement of said job it was nice to only have a bit of climbing and lots of ground work.
  3. Being cheeky here but what mad cap idea are you running with now? More volcanoes?
  4. The wife suffers really badly with them too and the itching drives her nuts. How does the cream work for them?
  5. Make sure they're the big pole gaffs and that you drive them in good and hard!
  6. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWOyfLBYtuU]YouTube - Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over (2010 Version)[/ame]
  7. Looks a nice place. I was thinking the same as bareroots; get them to level off the tree so it doesn't look so lopsided. If you don't like the loook full stop get them to take it out, grind the stump and you can replace it with something more suitable and maybe native to the area?
  8. Good advertising for Henchman don't you think?
  9. So did you get any recommendations regarding the ladders before you bought one? Did you do any research on them to make sure they would suit your needs? Did you ask questions of the staff regarding the product or did you just go ahead and buy one? You still haven't explained WHY they are only good for DIY enthusiasts, why they are no good etc. What was wrong with the customer service? Did you do anything to cause them to be arrogant? Have you discussed the issue with them?
  10. Nice work if you can get it. Hope they pay you well. Mind you, reckon I'd pay them to let me play on the Forth rail bridge on a day like that.
  11. Is that it? You might need a bit more ammo than that to save yourself a ban.
  12. Not too much in the way of stinging nettles in these parts.
  13. Brilliant! Had a smile on his face during pretty much all of it and no fancy trainers either. I spent hours as a kid climbing on roofs of the local schools or in old building sites, cold stores etc without killing myself and had a ball. No more dangerous than crossing the road or walking down the street these days.
  14. Annoying? That's comedy genius.
  15. What a pretty name. Congrats all round.
  16. Treescape have a grinder mounted on a 30 tonne Komatsu. Hell of a thing. Would make short work of that but it's in NZ so not much use to you.
  17. Had one guy try this on before. I had been told to go ahead with the removal only for him to go ballistic half way through because his wife had changed her mind. I was nice and polite at first but the more aggro he got the more annoyed I got. In the end I blew a fuse. The guy got a bit of a shock and calmed down straight away. We talked it over, the tree came out, he apologised, I apologised. Left him to deal with the wife. It's happened a couple of times with tenents too. Take the time to explain the situation to the owner but be careful they aren't trying to pull a swifty.
  18. I only wash my hands usually once a day when I get home. They are nice and baby bum soft most of the time and I only have minor callousing. The wife is most jealous. I don't subscribe to all the hogwash about sanitising your hands. I reckon doing that is just a way to increase the possibility of getting a disease because your immune system gets weaker and what's the problem with a bit of pee on your hands? It's supposed to be sterile anyway. As for pain; I get pins and needles in both hands during the night and often wake up with dead arms. I thought it might be white finger or RSI but I've recently been told it could possibly be because of compression of the spine (something I've had for a couple of decades) which affects the nerves and muscles. I'm currently doing pilates to try and reverse the effects.
  19. You fellas must be way behind us. We've had the new series of Deadliest catch finish a couple of months ago and we are currently into the second new series of Mythbusters. Mythbusters, in my opinion, is unmissable and yes, Kari is back looking trimmer than before (even after sprog) and mighty fine too. I watched the top 25 special over christmas with all the best explosions etc. Still reckon the best one yet was blowing up the cement mixer trying to remove hardened cement from the inside of the drum.
  20. Turangi New Zealand. The bitch is 4 years old and we've just got the dog (complete doofus) who's 2. Both are great except around smaller dogs where she especially seems to go a bit bonkers.
  21. Gotta say wired4smoke that girl of yours is a big dog. Fine specimen though. Thinking about upgrading the springs in the Disco to cope
  22. Have to find me a bigger truck to take my two anywhere. One at a time is enough and the slobber takes weeks to clean up
  23. Bit of a long way to travel for a shave me thinks.
  24. No harm in trying. Always happy to be proved wrong if I get some improvement out of it. Not sure how I'm going to manage it though as I usually shave in the shower.
