  8. Ok lads we have had the fungi threads letshave an epiphyte thread it can be anything from mosses to lichen to trees growing on trees ect:001_smile:
  9. Yes you use a wooden tap or a hollow piece of wood and drain into a bucket or bottle then whittle a plug out of wood and bang in firmly if a pine is near smear some resin around it first natures savalon:thumbup:
  10. When you have tapped off your sap you need to make sure you fill the hole with a good tight plug or the tree will bleed to death:cry:

  13. Looks good. I was looking at a video of a man who felled a curved oak tree winched it across the river and put up hand rails brill we need to make more with our timber
  14. Blackthorn and white thorn are class 1 firewood in my old forestry books:001_smile: I find white thorn needs longer to season.

  17. Belongs to the same family as Hornbeam and Hazel Betulaceae. does not live much past 80-100 years old. In Scotland it is sometimes called Birk which is the commonest place-name prefix in Scotland. I can not believe you typed all that poem out David you must be bored at work:lol:
  18. Has anyone got in there photo library any pictures of felled trees with Inonotus Dryadeus any cross section pics. Has anyone got a picus picture or any good info on the type of decay with this fungus. I have all the usual books but i wanted some more updated info you guys might be able to provide:001_smile:
