  1. Nice bit of Elm Ben. I had a huge Ash pollard with a big goblet come down last week and i have got the trunk sitting in a meadow waiting to be milled up well if i get time LOL

    Why did the AA choose to come into Arbtalk as a public forum and not as a members only as ISA did. I guess i know but thought i would ask anyway. PS in the newsletter what is a ruby shirt is this spelt wrong and should it be a rugby shirt:lol:

  9. You get some good jobs very very interesting. I have got a book on world orchids and some do grow in trees some trees have whole gardens in the top:001_smile:

  12. I am working in the woods and the only sap rising is maple and some hawthorn. You can coppice Ash and hazel till the end of march and they do really well i should think sycamore would be alright:biggrin:

  15. Hello Paul Smith. I came to do the basic tree survey with you at Stonleigh. I am an AA member but i am just a poor woodman and can't afford to go to any seminar or courses as they are expensive. I would love to come to the conference but boss won't pay so i will have to keep dreaming about it.
  16. Hello i have a Timberwolf PTO 150 chipper i have had this from new and it has had this problem the company came out twice to look at it but have never fixed it. Today it did it 4 times the forward rollers just stop and won't work i think it is a no stress problem i just move some wires and the relay box and it starts again anyone know whats the matter with it HELP:biggrin:
  17. Yes take a sappling Ash and graft a cutting of a pendula of the same size to it fingers crossed it will take:001_smile:
  18. Fraxinus excelsior. Seeds are known as keys there are 6000 seeds to the Lb these need to be put in boxes of sand and put in the ground for 18 months this is called stratification, can be speeded up by putting in the fridge. Fraxinus excelsior pendula the weeping ash if you plant these seeds they revert back to the common ash you can only grow these by taking cuttings and grafting onto a common ash root stock:001_smile:
