  1. ye its ok. one of the jobs i used it for was a council house that hadnt cut theres all summer. was only 6" high but that was it lying flat in a big slimy mess. left it scalped 1/2" on the first pass. with no problem. out front mowers can be handy in the right places but its easyer to drive machines with a steering wheel
  2. i got a secondhand one at the end of last season so only done maybe 20hours on it as far. i like it. it dose leave skid marks if your not carefull. hills can be a problem to but it dose leave a nice striped finnish and is great when the grass has been let get too long. youd be better to get a demo of course as there always a expencive machine to buy without testing
  3. might be worth looking at the amazone profihopper. depends on your job tho on large areas we dont lift it we just mulch it and cut it regular. better to try a machine on YOUR sites before you buy make sure it dose as you want it to
  4. iv a walker mower like for sale if anyones interested, youd just need to buy the chipper attachment from jean be hey shrek its warm by the sea here mate
  5. as long as it is seasoned and has a moisture content between 20 to 25% your doing ok. but most folk selling logs round here dont even understand about moisture content. why dont you ask the guy. if he dont know he'l just say "there good log"
  6. how about a 12" chipper on a mog local too
  7. andy wheres your cousin setting up? there used to be a place at dalry (ayrshire) that did it but i think something like the time the petrol price dropped they became really quite and the guy ended up moving abroad. do you think your cousin would know how to convert a 17hp scag mower to lpg. id wondered if they'd be any savings
  8. could you leave the bucket on and mount the splitter so it pushes the split bits into the bucket? or mount the splitter on the back so you still have the dumper? iv a dumper the same as yours. id wondered about fitting a hycrack on to the drive shaft and taking the axle off but dont know if the engines big enough

  16. its a U1100 i think. i think its got the drive plate on the gearbox for the front pto but no shaft. it was made by a fabrication company (theres a plate on the door im sure) for lime spreading. heres the only other pics iv got and its under a tarpaulin for winter just now. heres some more mog porn for you
  17. could do something similar to you lorry but would take a bit of work to get it fit. maybe even get a chipper mounted on the rear
  18. didnt do anything fancy just made sure it was sitting happy before tightening bolts up. im sure you'l find it on net but if your only planning to nount 1 imploment on it then id just make it to fit that rather than having to mod your chipper too. will try get some more pics tomorow
  19. 6x4 mog and the wee forklift (oh fixed the starter) not that you need any big boys toys now
  20. good idea. how about a swap for my timberwolf
  21. thats what id like to do but its getting the shaft to work when its close coupled that i cant work out. it wound make getting the woodchip into the box a lot easyer too, think it needs to fly 7' just to reach the box
