  1. Truck back now been sign written! I wanted the sides foldable for loading over the side with avant. And the chip flap has to go over the top so i can load logs over the top with tractor loader.
  2. Thanks for your help. Guessing it is notifiable to forestry commission?
  3. I haven't seen any of the diamond shaped lesions. It is on a mature Ash. I have been observing it for at least 10 years now and i don't think the decline has got much worse. How does this differ from the Ash dieback condition (p37 diagnosis of ill health in trees) There is evidence of root damage at least 15yrs ago when it looks like the drive was dug out to be block paved. Photos of tree in october
  4. Any ideas whats up with this Ash last years growth dies back but new growth looks healthy. Stem is clean as a whistle. A few canker like splits are evident. Nectria?
  5. I was afraid of that! a new seal kit won't fix the problem? ive never heard of this valve.
  6. no its not the bulb as i can hear the air at the carb end when i press the bulb
  7. when pressing the primer bulb air seams to be leaking at the carb somewhere but all the pipes look good. i Did a quick google and there is an internal air valve which can get stuck any ideas? would a seal kit fix the problem?
  8. Thanks for the replies. There must be an abundance of them down here this year. I can't say ive ever noticed them before but now they are everywhere
  9. I am in South Devon Interestingly i have seen them on another site we were working on today they were feeding on ferns there. obviously not fussy! They drop of what ever they are feeding on very easily when disturbed but presumably just fly back up later on. My 15 young apple trees were were covered in them yesterday and they have chewed on most of the young forming apples. Thanks for the information I did try identifying them but there are a lot of very similar looking beetles out there!
  10. These little darlings have started eating my newly formed apples. Any ideas? they look a lot like the japanese beetle minus the little white tufts.
  11. Yep you can. Youtube Klou Grinder, i think that one was the 18hp version
  12. Personally i didn't like the positioner on a wire core line even with the correct cam. It was to, all or nothing for my liking and took a tiny touch or snag to let you drop which i didn't like much! However the positioner is back on blue tongue and is lovely.
  13. Yep I've got 3 tsurugi's because they are so good. not just the blade though the case is good too, rollers and the blade will go in either way round. unlike the natanoko which will only go in one way. look forward to reading your article
  14. On my third Silky Hayate now, buttons keep busting, yellow clamps keep splitting and popping off, aluminium seam really soft around buttons. first day with the new one and the end drops off. The sintung lopper head will not return properly either, week springs i think. I Never remember these issues with my old Hayauchi saws, Don't make em like they used to! What others are people using?
  15. One of my clients had a problem with rooks nesting in one of his trees, tree was tpo'd, inspector recommended that we cut out 1 of branches forming forks from each of the 3 pronged forks, if you catch my drift?! this prevents them forming a nest in a nice cupped shaped, multi stemmed fork. it worked for many years.
  16. I like the grinder. it does take some getting used to with the loader, you can use the steering to sweep left to right or use the tilt to sweep in an arc up and down or use the boom to sweep in and out. if you can understand that?! its very smooth and you have a perfect view of what you are grinding. Only 23hp could do with 27 ideally but they wouldn't do it. I was looking for a grinder for a while but couldn't justify the 10k for dedicated machine, the klou one was 3.5k and utilises my loader.
  17. Weird, cant remember why but my brother in law who lives in ireland comes over here to buy his cars and recons he makes a substantial saving.
  18. Some from the last few weeks
  19. Yep, worth googling log splitter accident! frightening stuff!
  20. looks like they have changed the design probably;y to prevent the one handed operation! probably a good idea to leave it alone, its pretty complicated back there!
  21. Not the best video as i was trying to video at the same time.
  22. Which bushes do you mean? Ignore the writing on the photo. i had to get Halse of honiton engineers to pop out to have a look at it. it turned out that it had been put together wrong, washers on the wrong side which made the lever catch often. All good now though.
  23. You tend to come in from the side and use the steering and tilt to work the stump down. I found it to be just as efficient as a normal grinder except its only 23hp, could do with a little more umpph at times, but it is really smooth and precise as you can see exactly what you are grinding and the debris is thrown out the side.I tend to make thinner cuts to keep the revs up but it is very quick to sweep across the stump. 3kish and utilises my loader. i was looking at a bandit or fsi but they were 10k i couldn't justify it for the few stumps that i do.
  24. New toy! Anyone know how to make it one hand operated? I think the design has changed a bit.
