  1. Whatever teeth you get you'll be fine at that hp, green teeth 700 series are quite cheap as you just replace the tooth with 3 side's and not the pocket and will prob fit your existing disk. Had some teeth from SHOP | Stump Grinding Teeth WWW.STUMPTEETH.CO.UK Which were quite good value Or you could try Stump Grinder Teeth | Parts & Teeth spares for Tree Stump Grinders - Northern Arb Supplies WWW.NORTHERNARBSUPPLIES.CO.UK Stump grinder teeth for various stump grinding machines. Browse through our selection of high quality stump grinding teeth and order online today. As they've got copy rayco teeth if you want to stick with that type, avoid finger teeth nasty things that come flying out like tungsten tipped bullet's!
  2. What hp is it, found multi tip a pain in high hp grinders as they smash the leaders off. Most grinders have the same pocket bolt spacing as we have tried green teeth , rayco super teeth and Vermeer yellow jackets on the same disk at various times. Actually quite a fan of the super teeth as very strong in stony ground and easy to sharpen in the machine with a battery grinder and diamond disk. Not tried rhino teeth but they do look very good and from what I hear very smooth cutting
  3. Point him at the company who your working for , apologize and play dumb that as far as you were aware he'd been told and how terrible it is but your just doing your job as a little cog in a big machine, cash your payment, forget about it. Done.
  4. More likely thinking that he's worked for them sever times before, been asked for advice on the tree so jobs as good as his so open check book time but like others have said we might not be able to see the 4 BT lines running through the crown from the pictures, hell iv missed seeing a line stood under a tree before now, he might know the neighbors are total k ing nightmares and driving onto that grass will lead to police getting called and solicitor letters getting sent so it was priced to compensate I'd say we've all done it to some extent before.
  5. Hmm your gm has nearly 1300 times the hrs and needs a few bits doing but the forst has 500 and has required a full rework, sorry I'm negatively influenced due to having no end of failures on my st8 and one hell of a fight to get them sorted which they eventually did by basically swapping the engine into a new machine at less than 500hrs My bandit hasmore than 600 hrs now and iv had to change the blades and oil and even a bulb after it inconveniently blew . I really hope you have a good one as apparently they do exist but then according to my daughter so do unicorn's.
  6. Only once and he got a bill for the service as per my term nd conditions.
  7. My thoughts too! Wish we could get those rates around here.
  8. Your way to far from us but I'd say we could have easily removed this tree for £1200, access ain't that bad really. If I read your posts correct I'd say you found the cost abit of a ouch but understand if it needs to go it needs to go but feel it shouldn't just go for chip nd logs. How about you get your man who you obviously have a working relationship to quote and get another one from another reputation company locally then see if there is any local craft groups you could donate the timber to (we hav a few ex forces ones locally) who could use the timber for a small gift return to you in the way of for example some oak chopping board made from your tree. I might get booed for this but worth a few phone calls...
  9. I wonder who will be 1st to try reclaiming training costs from the last year or so saying they have been incorrectly and inadequately trained not to industry standards if said old school trainer hasn't insisted or even bothered with twin rope system. If one trys and is successful it could have a ver interesting back lash from all training providers against this do called update.....
  10. Good choice Ian and definitely the way I'm thinking these day's
  11. Bringing the thread back to arbdiggers of sorts as apposed to arbloaders , can't decide if this is brilliant or a potential death trap The lads were using ours to pull the tangled tops out a hedge before Christmas which saved a lot of cutting to separate the tops.
  12. I don't know, just what I was told - you tell me why they struggle then?
  13. Na torque converters aren't really designed for heavy pulling but it's still be nice to get a nice light trailer, even a ifor to put one of the attachment on
  14. Apart from a very expensive machine for work I've hardly got anything for anyone having not really left my lads side inthe RVI hospital in Newcastle since 26th November, think the doctors have given me the best present in making a massive important in him this week.
  15. It will be limited on sensors but effectively it's only the last yellow section on that load chart that's iffy for its capacity and has same capacity full 360 which some of the other models don't. Standard merlo headstock and going westtech for the head, yes you can tow but as the whole thing is over 15 ton I'd say hills with anything more tha a light trailer with implement s in would be hard on it but need to check legality of this as not sure, would rather chip brash anyway but it could lift lid off our chip trailer on the tractor and load timber straight ontop. Unless it's really a specific job that requires this methodology to meet sight constraints I wouldn't think you'd get a grand plus a day for this alone, we are too far north, with chipper etc yes but alone no.
  16. More room for Christmas expansion [emoji12]
  17. Fairly Bob on to what I was thinking actually, travel charged 1 direction at 50% working rate as per our other equipment when it his out on sub work. Then on top we will offer the big removal capacity of our 12"chipper on 30m³ trailer combo as I think keeping up with the merlos ability to put stuff on the floor with a 6" chipper might be a bit hopeful.Luckily we have a very reliable haulier not far from us and I've already touched base and found the rated more reasonable than I thought.
  18. Nope, well yes I do but really need to get it all together and some firmer ideas of prediction and limitations on our own jobs before offering it out to subcontract. Transport is going to be a consideration as it's a bit limited at 40k on the road so multi day jobs will naturally be more economical. Anybody want to jump in with some sensible or educated suggestions to what they would consider it'd be interesting to compare with what I'm thinking.
  19. Already have a good working relationship with the local merlo dealer that is less than 20min from us and they are also the valtra dealer and do a lot of our serving and I know the history of this perticular machine as they have looked after it from New. Also I hate to say but I've had less than ideal service from the manitou dealer who are quite a bit further alway so not really a preference to the machine as so much the back up. In a ideal world no budget constraints situation I would have gone magni as they have far greater capacitys but I'm happy with my choice.
  20. At 45° fully extended not massive really as it's the 4t model and the head is quite heavy but the capacity quickly increase as you increase the angle. the 60-21 would be better but are like rocking horse poo in the UK unless you want new but as a mewp the 40-26 gave more scope for outreach.
  21. It will do eventually but 8-12 weeks till that lands, ordered a new rotating man basket and merlo will be coming out to update the controls so the boom functions can be fully remote control to comply with th regs for controlling the basket from itself and itl mean when the grapple is fitted you don't need to be in the cab so can stand out for a better view. Dealing with the dead and dangerous is why we decided to make the investment as already do a lot of roadside stuff so was looking at bigger mewps but this is more multi purpose so hopefully kept busy and help keep staff safer.
  22. Not quite a digger but one of these is going to be delivered in the new year as a late crimbo present, stock photos I'm afraid but same model. too
  23. Wore my Pilatus for a few weeks now and not eased of at all in fact they are almost crippling me pushing on the tendons just above my heel and I'm thinking of changing for something else after Christmas yet my old pfanner boots broke in in no time and were comfortable for 2 years
  24. Had one for over a year no and probably the most comfortable harness I've had in 20 years of climbing, so many little adjustments to get it just right how you want it, worth watching the video as some good tips in setting it up. Important duty is a kick in the nuts but once we leave Europe prob have it on everything so decided quickly.
