  1. Got a set of clippers from Lidl about 18months ago for less than 20quid and give myself a jail house cut nearly ever week since
  2. The one we got to try was covered in a alloy plate with a piano hinge along the leading edge to protect the bag itself
  3. Really nice edit Ian, looks some good Jobs. What software do you use to edit with?
  4. No rope working! The ultimate solution! Once Italy gets back on its feet after its current battle we have a remote control coming which will really make things interesting and a rotating man basket to effectively turn her into a 25m mewp with approximately the same footprint as the equipment tracked machine.
  5. Time to get fat I think [emoji16]
  6. Eventually got everything together and out with the newest machine to hit our fleet. Made such light work of this beech which otherwise would have involved a lot of rigging over a crumbling wall and a bt line.
  7. We still had this in our blue book chainsaw training when I was at collage, it's called the split level cut now I believe but was still know as the cushion cut then, collage only had the one and was only used on a few demos but it did work.
  8. My opinion is if it's to the point your needing massive jack's on back learners to get them vertical before you can even think about tipping point you should be thinking winch as it's far to easy for a hinge to go and you've got bugger all control and are directly under the tree bent over not in your safety zone and not looking up. I know it's not always financially viable but neither is a accident.
  9. Problem with jack's is a lot more cutting to get them seated and I've had them split the back of a tree out before, got a rachet type that can be used with a impact but tend to use it manually as it's really easy to carry . https://www.chrisforestry.co.uk/store/product/koller-mechanical-felling-wedge-1
  10. Sounds like forst based there st6 on that machine not a Jenson like everyone thinks [emoji12]
  11. I skip straight to stage 4 with this one when my bottom step was no longer visible and my drawbar was on a stump [emoji24] Fully unload, swing as far forward as possible so hopefully can reach from the track and deploy the winch. Still had to use a pulley to double up and a high set to lift the front end up the 2ft step onto the hard track. Cost me about a hour nd a half in time and a takeaway on the way home to feed my friend who had picked my kids up from school and was watching them till I got home as she couldn't be arsed to go home and start cooking.
  12. Yeh but had to put a high point up a tree to help lift the front end out the hole.
  13. Friday 13th, I'll just get one more load out before going home, FFS big mistake
  14. Shows the difference in size between the two machines working together today
  15. Had it already for mounting on my botex crane for occasional jobs before we started getting more where excavator mounting was more practical. Having the rotator has given a interesting ability to cut bigger as found you can double cutting almost a step cut which to do with our normally mounted 200 would mean tracking to the op side of the tree, also makes stacking easier.
  16. Brilliant, get some of the timber out nd sold.
  17. Not got a damper on this just the old solid link off the botex. It's not too bad as the digger can lift high enough. Swapped some pipes around so the rotate is right hand left right and the crowed is now in the foot pedal as don't use it much and open close is on 2nd aux left thumb button s. Feels a lot more natural to use now.
  18. Got the jak250 shear set up on the bobcat E80 at last today, few teething problems with pipes but working well thisafternoon, hell it's long when it tilts down!
  19. They have just cancelled a big schools science fair at the NEC that my daughter was off too thankfully
