  1. Reg has a sweet looking grapple hook Tree climbing - grappling hook HD:
  2. Tried home made shito from a ghanahan friend when round for dinner, talk about a little going a long way! Tasty but hot!
  3. Magnets, I'm sure a video was posted on here a while back where 2 lines were used and the bag had a magnet in and so did the 2nd line somehow..... Just remember it worked very well.
  4. Cow mat is quite soft almost spongy stuff, ok for running tracked stuff over but would be destroyed by dropping branched on where's stock board is more rigid and imo will last longer but also around the 30quid mark, local ag serpliers have pallets of it in at moment.
  5. For lighter machines and repetitive foot passage over a few days or after very wet weather I put down some of the thinnest pig board think it's either 4 or 5mm and works perfectly even carries a 50hp predator grinder without a mark. Thinking of getting some thicker 8x4sheets and cutting them down to 8x2 for driving the landy cherrypicker over grass this winter.
  6. Recently started playing with a backbone from sherrils, makes notless rigging with slings so much quicker both up the tree and for the groundsman, any1 ells tried it yet? With a bit of luck and time I hope to get a video of it up soon.
  7. Not surprising you got banned from the forums after the hrs jdd said you'd put in to the x video. All good, loving the singing groundy and client in cloths don't make a man
  8. A tirfor cable shouldn't untwist as the way the individual wires within the cable run parallel to the cablewhich gives it's smoother nature unlike conversation winch cable which is quite bumpy also some of the bigger 1s have swivel hooks probably for this reason, mine has.
  9. As matty said, the 2001 gives you the option of cutting in a mount seat which is better for blocking down even if this is a future thing and it's kinder to your ropes with a bigger bend radius. As the mps say it's helping future proof yourself. Nowt wrong with a floating capstan, still use an old 1 in the 12mm kit for pruning works or for a 2nd tail line but non of my lads would pick it out of choice.
  10. As Ian said go for an rc2001 if you can as it's so much more friendly to use. You could get a pinto rig and a few slings for a redirect and I'd always go for a spliced line if it's an option as makes light notless rigging so much quicker.
  11. No because the tirfor relies on jaws inside to grip the solid cable and pull it through so a rope would just squish up and not work but you could use some as a cable extension so you don't have to carry as much heavy steel rope around.
  12. Sell a few of the small stuff, prob 10 or so a year, not so many large chairs but this was paid for by the gallery as part of another project. Don't really push them as it's something I enjoy and 'having' to do them would probably spoil that. Made a workbench in the same style and could have sold that easy at a demo on Saturday at the gallery
  13. Latest chair for part of a wood themed exhibition at jo cornish gallery in Northallerton.
  14. Greenwood Chair making demo at gallery where I sell a bit. Could have sold the work table a few times, not bad since its conifer and narly offcut of oak.
  15. Dry stone walls possibly?
  16. That blade looks just like the 1 a lad I was helping in the sawmill removed 3 fingers with right next to me when I was an apprentice. Dangerous things if your not paying attention!
  17. Like I said it's tends not to be the big hard technical high price jobs that get me but something silly like having to get cars shifted in order to trim a hedge intime to get to a 2nd job that needs finishing before a particular time to get home to be somewhere ells. Trying to fit too much/many little jobs in is more stressful than a job that iv allowed the time, staff and £ for which seems to play on my subconscious planning brain at night.
  18. Far as I know yes. Think he sold the valtra and botex a while back so you'd need something to load it but worth a call if you've got anough over 8"timber.
  19. Binderberger 520 Firewood Processor Hire: Here you go.
  20. Time for a beer
  21. Don't believe that for a moment, your Mrs is a lovely lady, shed never risk good food by checking it at you... A pan or sharp objects maybe but not good food
  22. Was so nice yesterday, all I had to worry about was being in the rite place at 8am with mewp to help on a friends job and today being at the training centre to redo my IPAF ticket, quite relaxing compared to normal.
  23. Same, often dismantle the tree 3 times in my sleep before iv got to the job, but it's not always the big nasty dismantle it could be just a job where there lots to remember or do before starting like telling neighbours, getting cars shifted etc that disturbs my sleep. Writing lists help a bit and talking a job through with staff the day before helps the most as I know someone ells knows what's going on so if I forget something hopefully they won't.
  24. He's a good bloke Stephen, harvester driver is a little tapped but a good hand on the machine. Have you seen his bindenberg firewood processor yet Ian? It's huge!
