  1. It's when a gust comes and suddenly you can't reach the branch you were cutting seconds before, that's when things get a bit squeaky!
  2. Just remind them how they got started! Put them on a trile and make it plain that's what it is so no pissing about or out, simples! Also worth directing them to a few threads on here about what to do in a new job or as an apprentice. Someone better with comps than me could link then here👇
  3. Handy points about, Joes as well as I have a 16 year old girl wanting to come for some work experience. Will look up young persons risk assessment and prob give aeborisk a call to inform them and ask for any recommendations.

Always had fun at collage capturing them and releasing them later in the student union bar, sit back and watch the panic, help ones self to another beer then becomes the hero by capturing the monster with bare hands and release it outside 😁💪
  5. Chip quality inspections are common with us these days but like Steve said got to watch out for the steam on a cold day giving the game away as 1 client commented that it was amazing how quickly the green matter started to heat up and produce steam once chipped and asked if this was ever a fire risk in the back of the van.
  6. Just spotted this monster while out doing some evening pricing, it's huge!!
  7. That's a good machine, liking the 1210 next to it, rare for a 4x4, done lots of winching with a 1390 and it was a good tractor with a surprising amount of grunt for its size.
  8. Looks it, ex army contraption or cable pulling rig? Any ideas what it's rated pull is?
  9. And we all probably have the gear to make 1 too Paul
  10. She must be mint to keep your attention away from tech and arbtalk, well done sir!
  11. Is it a ally side or steel side bed on the 1 your getting? If your going ply just stand a sheet at either side and bolt through the standard sides then measure and cut a sheet as a headboard and wedge it in and repeat bolting the the standard headboard then use some mettle angle brackets to strengthen sides to front sheet. Simple but effective, paint the ply to look less like a wooden box and your away. You'll get about a year to 18months till you'll need to replace the timber but hopefully by then you'll have saved up enough to get a full Metal box made.
  12. Not a bad 1 really but who'd have thunk it to find a stone rite in middle of the tree, fair bit of filing to get back past the damage!
  13. Snotty sycamore dismantle today, forgot to take before pictures because it was peeing it down, I knew the bottom was bad but hadn't counted on how bad it was high up, like a pipe, got a little help from the Estates forwarder to shift the timber and had the stump ground out by 4.30.
  14. Would be handy when I'm plunge cutting furniture joints rather than sharpie marks up the bar
  15. Some excellent examples in this lot also, favorite has to be the rootplate sitting back down and coursing a tidal wave...
  16. Look up layburn lad on here as he is looking for line clearance staff but a bit south of you in North yorkshire, always worth a pm and a call.

    New Radio

Sure I'd seen a millwalky 1 that was also DAB for less than that but it was a bit bigger but looked very strong, fancy 1 myself for in the yard save having to use 1 of the vehicle radios to entertain when spannering.
  19. That's the sort of thing the dealer should be aware of Pete when they bring them out and demonstrate that it's possible to adjust such a thing to compensate for heavy material. He did show us where I'd be able to have a speed adjuster fitted but said as a factory fit only available on the tracked machine.
  20. You using your phone as a sneaky mirror now Paul ha ha
  21. Yeh that's why I'm going bigger, that and I hate dressing stuff out unnecessarily!
  22. Going to try the wall paper paste thing with some laurel regeneration we have to selectively kill off soon, apply with a brush direct to the leaf.
  23. Feed speed was quite quick but no more than the quadchip but unfortunately it's not adjustable unlike the tracked machine, think it was more to do with the disk speed not creating anough blow, on same material the quadchip hammer everything to the front. Like I say, good machine but not a big enough improvement in performance to warrant loosing the turntable and the 10k + extra I'd need to change. Agreement on the opening up to check stuff can prevent problems before they get big
  24. Had 1 on demo last week and found it a good machine but not as bigger improvement on the quadchip as I'd hoped, some good features like a Rev up/down button on the hopper, spare tire tucked underneath. Poor points were spout was wrong for my big truck, no central grease points so have to remove covers to do it. And the hopper felt quite narrow for that size class machine. When chipping timber it had a good through but on wet conifer quite poor and worse on willow which ended up just making it into the truck. Build quality looked very good but actually prefer the 1928.
