  1. Both! . Sometimes its scattered along the border. Any concrete i break off i yake away and recycle. Worst case scenario, i bag up the stuff i cannot lose and it rinds it way into the next skip
  2. Mmm. I have a jcb beaver. Never lets me down. Put in 7 spurs yesterday. The trick is to dig down the front of the exisitng concete ball, then i crack the concete off from the front of the post. It usually breaks off in one lump. The beaver is perhals overkill, Yes its a lump to carry around, but no worse than a gennie and an elec breaker, plus mine works in the rain.
  3. Saw similar near me. Grab lorry tipped, left is grab in the air, and as he drove forward and touched the cables, all the tyres exploded with such a shockwave, i felt it it my chest. Lorry electrics fried, wrote it off. He had the unfortunate task of ringing his boss to give him the bad news, which happened to be his dad!
  4. Whats the serial number, so if anyone spots it for sale or working, we can check it out.
  5. I guess they were checking if trailer was more than 3.5 tonnes. They dont know the rules themselves half the time, as i proved to them when they tried to nick me for having no tacho!
  6. Hate to disagree, but last time they made me remove the trailer and weighed it seperate. You are supposed to load a trailer so the load is balanced and not excessive nose weight
  7. Try that tack when you get pulled by vosa, see if they agree!
  8. Problem with diverting all calls is dealing with all the sales calls and scams on the mobile when you could be working!
  9. What a shame. I have that jockey wheel on my small brian james digger plant, and not had any issues with it as yet, but noticed on the bigger one, its a standard one, so they must of changed the design. Fingers crossed mine will be ok! I have moved away from ifor due to poor welds, brake pads that keep coming unbonded from the shoes and jamming the brakes on, rattling sides, poor ride handling, and lack of enthusiasm or help from ifor in general. For example, i have the 16ft tilt bed. I wanted to convert the manual pump to electric, as i was keen to make things easier especially as i was unloading and loading 8 times in a day in the summer. They insisted it couldnt be done, and would not help in anyway to source spares. I eventually proved them wrong, and did it for around 300quid, even making the system wireless. Why they wouldnt help is beyond me considering they would have got the profits from the spares.
  10. I have just invested in the brian james digger trailer, its got a 3 tonne payload, multiple tie down points, adjustable inbuilt ramps, led lighting, super smoth ride system. Tried it with the avant on, tows great. Worth considering. Build quality is far better imho
  11. I cant seem to use the damn things, plus they are expensive if all i need to do is text and make calls. Plus, easy to damage, crack screen etc. I use a tablet for emails etc
  12. Got samsung now. Good phones. Been reliable. Hate nokia
  13. Why did you upgrade to a smartphone?
  14. Bit of an unusual one, but trying to see if someone out there can help. I currently have a samsung slide phone. Its not a smartphone, nor do i want one, but it appears that my modern satnav unit doesnt like it, and whilst it connects to it, it just wont display the phonebook or connect calls properly. So its time to move on. I need a phone that texts, makes calls, has a camera, bluetooth, the ability to bar numbers, ideally a calculator too. Thats it! Any suggestions?
  15. What annoys with most with ebay is their " bury the head in the sand" attitude when it comes to stolen equipment. You cannot report it to them unless you are a law enforcement officer, and since the police will not investigage, this sort of crime will go unpunished. Flush them out. Everytime i see the same stolen crusher come up on ebay, i merrily ask for the serial number so i can verify its operating system. They take it down and wait a few months, before relisiting it usually at extreme ends of the country. Can you ask them for the engine serial number? If its genuine, they wont mind giving it
  16. No,you can still drive them, nissan wont be allowed to sell them, thats if the rumours are true
  17. Correct. Haven just taken delivery of my new cabstar, before i purchased it, i looked seriously at the competition. Transits were off the list anyway. Worst payload, most expensive, easiest to steal with the master key you can buy online, amongst otner things. Isuzu dont do a double cab. Mitsubishi came a close second, but you cannot remove the rear seats, no bluetooth, no sat nav option, no lsd. This cabstar is the best i have had so far. Easy hill start, heated seats, satnav and camera, 3.5tonne towing, very comfortable. There is a rumour they are stopping making it from august as it wont comply with eu emissions from 2020, but its the same engine as navara, and thats still going. There was mention of payload. The reason so many cherry picker companies use cabstars as that it has the biggest payload of the all, hence they can mount the steelwork for the picker safely and within limits
  18. I have something similar, so which slot do the black crimps go in?
  19. Any chance you can show us what crimping tool you use? I have one that you can put different jaws in, but never seem to get it spot on!
  20. Tried that after speaking to the manager. He knocked 25 quid off
  21. Renewed my old truck as usual, 855 full comp. Nfu When i rang to insure the brand new truck, which was only four years younger, exactly the same vehicle, they wanted 1666! Got a quote online for 565 with gladiator. Ok, so rang them,to arrange, then he told me its gone up 130 as i had a single vehicle accident in 2017 in my car. I didnt, the wife did. She backed into a lamppost in her works carpark. Long story short, i ended up withdrawing the claim, and not bothering with the repair. But because i have registered it, they are charging me extra. Absolute buggers. Still cheaper than nfu though!
