  1. Yes, in essence. It works by slicing through under pressure. It's designed for processing timber with contaminants in, that would otherwise render a chainsaw blunt.not used one, but its tempting as i process an awful lot of fence posts for my fire
  2. I was right! Must tell my wife, it does happen now and then
  3. The parts list, list it as a bolt. The only way I can see of removing it from a close look at the schematic diagrams, is it has to be pushed put into the chamber where the chipper drum is!
  4. In that last picture, is that just basically a long bolt? I.e. can you see the head on the other side?
  5. I dont think we can explain it any better. Chat to an accountant.
  6. What he said! And to answer the van question, if the van is 20,000 plus vat. You have to pay the dealer 24,000, then claim 4000 back from hmrc. Its not income so its not taxed
  7. You are basically a tax collector when vat registered, and paying that tax to the government. Every invoice you send out, you record the at you are charging. That's got to be paid to HMRC, but you then add up all the vat from stuff you can put against the business, and deduct that from the amount. Unless you have had a big purchase, you always owe them. Let's say for example, you buy a pallet of bricks, and they cost 500 plus vat. You sell them to the customer, for let's say 1000 plus vat. You choose to make 500 on them. That's the only thing you have done all month, and it's time to send in the vat return. You have an invoice for 1200 all in, but against that, 600 all in. 200 vat on the invoice, 100 on the receipt of bricks. You owe them 100. You are taxed on the profit you have just made on the bricks. £500. If you were not vat registered, you buy the bricks for 600 Inc vat, but cannot claim this back. You sell them for 1200, again, Inc vat which you dont owe them. You are taxed on £600 profit. Being vat registered really makes you dearer by 20% on your labour only
  8. Eh? Pay tax on the vat you claim back??? It doesn't work like that!
  9. Thanks Bob. It's looking like when I rebuilt her, I obviously didn't set it correct, despite following the dean lofthouse thread ! I have stripped it all down, and have got it all ready, but am going to enlist the bart chipper doctor guy who is on Facebook to assist me in rebuilding, then I can learn the process first hand. One question, has anyone ever managed to undo the nose shaft off the flywheel? I assume it's a left hand thread?
  10. Mmm. Best ask the dealer. That's a new one on me
  11. Yes it did. Are you saying yours is either fully up, or fully down, and you cannot choose any point in between?
  12. My refurbished entec double bearings decided to give up after just 75 hours ( ???) First thing, what do those shims do that the parts list says "as required" Second, is the shaft removable from the flywheel? It looks like it should be , as there is two flat spots on it as if you can get a large spanner on it. If so, is it a left hand thread? Has anyone ever undone one after being on for such a long time?
  13. Refurbished entec decided to shatter the double bearings after just 75 hours. Flywheel shifted, all belts dropped off, pulley stoves into housing and wore the metal away. Now got to work out how to repair
  14. I had similar on an old b1700 I discovered if the lift lever was all the way up, it tried to keep pumping oil, I just had to put the lever down a touch, that stopped the problem
  15. At last, someone who thinks like me. I am lucky enough to have friends In the emergency services, and a neighbour who works in the care home industry. Deaths reported in care homes from covid, are ,mostly, not covid related. They will put covid down as cause of death, as they get the bodies removed straight away. The schools should never have shut. It was the teachers panicking. The government have now realised that if they shut schools, at least one parent has to give up work to look after them, so then it costs the economy and jobs. So now we have to wear masks in shops. Why weren't we back in March? It's all blown out of proportion by the media and bloody Facebook. Social distancing? So why did they open up the pubs then? No one is social distancing in them! Bloody farce
  16. May have found one online that has similar measurements so will order that. And in the meat Time to get me out of trouble, bend the old one
  17. They have no diagram or parts list for that part of the machine sadly
  18. Anyone know where I can get a replacement one of these? It's off an old 1999 entec, it attaches to the red stop bar round the hopper. Its located inside a black plastic box mounted on the back of the hopper cover.
  19. Same thing happened to me, same place!
  20. I brought one for my micro digger from digbits. Very pleased with it. They are very helpful when you speak to them, and usually have stuff off the shelf for immediate dispatch
  21. But, as they are not subject to an mot or emissions tests, the dpf can be removed by the end user!
  22. This is what infuriates me . It takes us longer now as we have less horsepower, so we burn more fuel than we would otherwise have done! Its like the eec telling us our kettles were too powerful, so down rate them, it takes, longer to boil! Interesting I brought a new kubota 40hp tractor this year, no dpf, and no sign of one ever being fitted according to the dealer, so why in chippers?
