  2. ive been asked after turning up with full kit on helmet saws the full works "can you empty my bins" and do you know when my bins are going to be emptied to which i reply "how the hell should i know im a plumber"
  3. i think ill still use my fishermans though as a spliced eye must wear more i would of thought due to the constant wear being directly on the exact same spot all the time. With a fishermans it changes slightly with every new knot. also you can if needed cut a foot off the end of your rope and start a fresh. some of us lesser mortals cant splice anything other than 3 core although in saying that good post
  4. Keep a high anchor as possible. keep on your feet if poss lean back into your harness use crotches as foot holds but be aware of deadwood plan each step its not a race. if you feel your going out a little to far i like to tie in a false crotch with a spare strop and flip my rope through it. ...and falling off is all part of the learning process and the fun
  5. cheers lads good advice i feel. i was also wondering what combinations of ropes are other climbers using is there a popular one or are were all very diverse ?
  6. i was just wondering chaps if i might be in the right place to ask? does anybody have advice or views on the best rope to use on a friction hitch i have New England Hi-Vee rope and use a klemheist and a present im using beal and i fear it may be a little Inferior to the newer ropes

  9. i like to take a little bit off at a time working with the safest area first aways removing the limbs above you head where possible and remembering to think after each cut if this fell or rolled which way is it gonna go. a bit like kerplunk take a stick out and reaccess....BUT, the book says the safest and proper way is attach a winch and pull it off if possible ?

  11. the fact that ive jumped ship once myself and found out the hard way and the fact that i know a lot of people with up to 20yrs experience that have had to finish still like the smell of an arborists transit cab. this job attracts a certain type of person were all special in some sought of way and the climbing and the adrenalin is addictive ive found and you dont get it from delivering veg, working on a computer or planting bulbs.

  15. i have two 084s on a 1.8 mtr bar on a mill just got them and they need testing im in salford
  16. My best ever chipper has been an Exenco gravity fed pto chipper on a david brown tractor witha bucket on the front for counter balance ~(it wheelies other wise) it was a fire and forget chipper no stress box, no snedding needed 14 dia hole on a 1 mtr square hopper you could somtimes throw wood from the tree into the hopper. we use to pick up log that take three men to carry and throw it in .. then try to stop it pulling it in to fast cause the clutch on the pto couldnt handle it darn it was the best ever chipper . Unfortunately it was as dangerous as hell and if you wasnt privvy to its way you could get a nasty kick in the face and any risk assessment would of condemed it to the scrap heap about 5years before it had to RIP Big Yellow you were the best!
  17. i use to take a piece of pull cord on the bog instead of the paper thats how i practiced......still do now every now and then
  18. the best way to cool down is by gettin a friend to stick the blower down the top of you pants on full throttle .....yeh yeh yeh blow job i know . but it works !
  19. i dont get it theres to much choice. if therewas one religion i may read up on it and have some thoughts. as far as i can tell all religions revolve around the sun anyway and i love to worship the sun.
