  1. I stood watching you work for about 10 minutes. Partly because I needed the rest from walking round the show, but mostly because of how fascinating it was watching a master at work. Didn't realise you were an arbtalker
  2. I have to confess this bugs me also. I've noted though that the offenders generally seem to be the ones that only last 12 months in the industry, coincidence?
  3. I have both now. The Echo is more powerful but I prefer the feel of the Stihl in the hand. I only ever use either for cutting stuff under 6" anyway, with the exception of the odd central stem in a reduction. You probably won't go wrong with either to be fair
  4. My 460 is coming up for replacement and im wondering if I should wait for the 462 or go ahead with a 461 which is a fantastic saw by all accounts. or, do I just wait for the 550i at a price as yet unknown?
  5. I use the 'crude' method Rob describes very well at the start of the video Yes its worth it on larger bars and obviously depending on the state of the rest of the bar
  6. done anyone have experience of this make of mini chipper? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/wood-chipper-GS120-professional-120-mm/273159067235?hash=item3f998c9663:g:neEAAOSwgFJa0gBg
  7. That was a good read. What is imgur anyway, another social site?
  8. Ask vespasian. He's probably seen a youtube video about it
  9. Brilliant! Almost makes me want to have a kid
  10. All anyone can do here is guess an answer based on the limited amount of information to hand
  11. sad isn't the word. It is literally the end of an era
  12. Looks like the loader came in handy there! Hate topping conifers with a passion. Looks like you have the knack of it though
  13. I have seen a few ready made stump grinding guards out there. Can anyone give any feedback on these? Failing that, if you have made your own up, how did you go about it please? Pics would be great.
  14. A friend of mine had the same happen with his Ranger. He moved over to Isuzu
  15. Doesnt look like a throwing axe to me

    Ouch.

Makes me think twice about rigging a dead tree. It could have been done a lot smoother with the right gear and knowledge though.

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
