  1. try fixing that screen yourself on a sunday aftrernoon?! oh well just have toss the whole thing in the bin and get a new one, iam sure it wont be that expensive!!!
  2. is that what the ground mats are made of?
  3. we have a husky 550 with a cracked oil tank , the crack is on the front of the saw ,it has a few cracks as if it has had an impact. we where thinking to clean it and grind the paint off and put some sort of chemical metal , glue stuff to repair? anyone tried this and what product worked? if that doesnt work then i guess its a new crankcase and rebuild. thanks carl
  4. are you sure its chainsaw trousers you are after!!!! arbortec breethflex are comfy enough, outers are a bit weak though
  5. or could the vent be leaking?!!!! not sure what sort of roof set up you have but if the insulation is only on the ceiling level and the rafters are uninsulated then would there be much temp difference between above the ceiling insulation and outside?? hope that made sense!!
  6. ive got the sip keiu jacket at work, its a good fit, not too warm and good for climbing. it doesnt seem to be 100% waterproof though. the best jacket i ever had was a berghaus walking jacket, pissed all over any arb jacket ive had in terms of waterproofness.
  7. what sort of hygrometers do you use?, thanks
  8. looking for ground mat recommendations for a sub 3.5t mini digger. thanks carl
  9. that 60m rope is looking more appealing by the minute
  10. id sell it , we had an early 261 and had no end of trouble with needle bearings and worn crankshaft.
  11. hope you didnt get the cab muddy!!! awesome set up
  12. sorry i havent got any experience with these systems, plenty of info on the net else where though. id say finding the reasons for the damp will help to work out the best solution, this is what iam kinda doing at the moment on our house. hope you get a solution, let us know if the system helps if you do end up installing one. carl
  13. i think positive input ventilation and MHRV are slightly different, i think the PIV just pumps fresh air in. i think these systems have been developed for the trend towards airtight (passive haus) new builds. a friend has a MHRV system in his new airtight spec house, he said it was good but he wasnt so sure about the heat recovery side of things being so efficient.
  14. ive been looking into this sort of thing, hard to find out if it will work well in your own home, i think a lot of it depends on the airtightness of the building. does the system heat the incoming air? i would of thought air in the loft would be cold( well it is in mine) . the MHRV systems sound good but require a pretty airtight house to be efficient. iam just going to start with extractor fans in kitchen and bathroom ( like most people have and i didnt bother fitting.... doh). carl
  15. no probably would look a bit odd, but do you think a lighter prune would keep it upright? although in reality with no targets around one could probably leave it alone.
  16. would anyone consider a harder prune than in the ops photos?? and maybe not bother with the rod pinning? not saying this is the right thing to do just wondering others opinion. carl
  17. ooold thread!! wasnt there a sperm whale lunge somewhere in here!??
  18. cool glad your ok, easy mistake to make, and ivy never makes things easy, it is good for putting in the kerf as a wedge though!
  19. hope you were ok!!??
  20. i still think a 60m rope is a hassle free all round option imo
  21. i dont think its dodgy although i didnt mention a stopper knot or half hitches on the tail, but maybe a double fishermans is tidier.
  22. id tie them bowline to bowline
  23. if your spending that much on a house from scatch, then id keep the osb, let it dry and move a bit then do it room by room with laminate or somthing you like as you get the funds. i would of thought pallets would be a nightmare to fit and prepare etc.
  24. i think until the op actually sees the clients wall then its hard to say whos at fault etc, there could be two tiny marks or the wall could be destroyed.
  25. then id say the rope mark suggested would suit, non CE marked cougar blue, i used to use it and liked it. you can get the same rope with a CE mark but i belive its got a slightly diffferent construction which makes it a bit bouncier for srt . i know a couple of people who climb with and like the courant squire v2, but again that doesnt have a splice. id say if you had the money a 45m spliced cougar blue and 60m xstatic or courant ( cheaper i belive) would cover everything.
