  1. Not by a long shot, have you read your last thread? only jk 10 pages in 2 days must be a near record! At least the OP now knows what questions to ask when buying in the future.
  2. I can never understand why some think that! If they have a lower price than 'me' they will do a crap job, That job looks like it could be knocked out in an hour or 2 as others have said. I suppose 'our' price is always the right one and everyone else is either doing it for beer money or is a rip off merchant.
  3. What grades though as I presume that isn't all at grade A? I'm sure it's not too difficult to get an A level but I guess the top grade is a bit more difficult. Maybe it proves that the teaching system is improving?
  4. Glad you seem to have waded through the shite and decided what saw your after. Some of you lads need to get yourself into a RL pub and grow up!
  5. I think STI'S play a major part in cervical cancer. Possibly that women taking the pill slept around more which led to increased STI'S etc.
  6. No one ever thinks that they are the prick.
  7. None of any of the above, 020T(not MS200T) if I had no choice on this horrendous sounding place! That or a giraffe, im not 100% sure. I know its a choice between 201v150
  8. I dunno but if I invested billions in a new product I wouldn't want my customers being able to replicate it for free.
  9. I don't know if you can compare refresher driving test to NPTC tests, ie I presume there is just one driving refresher course/test to take compared to god knows how many NPTC units I have! Besides being a coach driver you would be responsible for the safety of say 50+ other people whereas as an arb it's mainly your own safety that's at risk.
  10. I like the cut of your jib young man. No wonder I can't get a decent day rate on jobs, you heros are doing twice as many hours as me!! On the tools from 8 till 4 ish then the usual stuff that goes with the job after that.
  11. Yes you should get one and try it out for yourself rather than complain about something on the back of others, constantly! Or JUST GIVE IT UP MAN AND STOP POSTING THIS *$*$ ON EVERY BLEEDIN CHAINSAW THREAD POSSIBLE!! Go on then tell us exactly what you said to offend husqvarna?
  12. I think 18 Stoner has a valid point here. Are you sure it's not you being the "Cupid Stunt" here? You are doing something to annoy him enough to have to tell you about it. If you are starting saws every weekend then I can see his point. What may seem trivial to you can be very annoying to others, just like the person who lets their kids run riot all day, let's their dog bark constantly, has 5 scrap cars on their driveway etc etc. Just remember he has probably paid quite a bit of money to live in that home, why should you or anyone else detract his enjoyment of living there. Their are far too many selfish people in the world and judging by some of the replies quite a few in here. Obviously I'm not saying your one of the selfish ones and your neighbour could be cusing hassle over nothing but it is a possibility, so it may be worth thinking about exactly what your doing before directing anymore hate towards your neighbour.
  13. I don't think we have seasons anymore in the UK! For me it's the winter, don't like the cold and wet. Bugs arent usually a problem although you can get some massive clouds of aphids on sycamores, which don't taste too nice.
  14. Have you read your previous posts mate? As that contradicts them all. Anyway I stand by my comment as, no offense but I believe your talking bollocks. Cheer up you miserable gits a fiver won't kill you but will save the life of another.
  15. What a miserable grim thread this is. Whinging about someone helping others is a new low in complaining FFS! worcswuss, that's some narrow minded opinions you have there.Without a doubt some celebrities will help more people in 1 minute than you will in your entire life. No one has to donate to charity but come on, give those that do a little respect.
  16. Ooops, actually I should apologise a bit to you there as I sort of got this and another thread and another member mixed up.
  17. I vote you do them, the site and everyone else a favour(members who make a sing and dance about wanting to leave), ie ban them and put them out of their misery.
  18. Surely though with experience this isnt necessary as it becomes automatic? In regards to the OP I suppose it could be considered a waste if you get to the end of your working career and have never had to rely on the protection from the PPE but up until that point then I don't think it can be seen a waste of money.
  19. Hey I'll get anyone a virtual pint. We are talking about two different things here though. There is massive difference between offering professional advice compared to forcing your personal opinions on someone. If someone has decided to have a tree removed then who am I to tell them they can't? All I can say is I'm not doing it and be on my way. Besides just because we are a professional doesn't mean to say we are right, one mans specimen tree is another mans leaf dropping, wall destroying, foundation lifting, view blocking, light blocking and costly PITA, while one mans scabby cherry is another mans pride and joy.
  20. Come on who is throwing their toys out here. I commented on how I dislike the idea of contractors saying the client is wrong and doing sneaky stuff and you quote me saying isnt this what pros do compared to cowboys!? What else am I supposed to say! I think your idea of working with the client is different to mine.Plus its all about the client to me.
  21. Err what? So someone who listens to the client and does as they request is a cowboy whereas someone who ignores the clients wishes, imposes their own opinions with intention to change those of the client and when that fails gets some biggers boys to force their views through! I never understand why some think it their duty to 'talk the customer into' 'persuade the customer to' etc etc. Why is our view more important than the customer? The customer knows whats best for them 99.9% of the time the other .1% they ask for our advice all we can do is give our professional opinion, not ram it down their throat.
  22. I cant belive some of the views of what people think is right! This is worse than the sneaky assessor thread! Wouldn't go down to well for the professional arb industry would it. " I invited a local professional Arb firm to quote on removing a tree but the guy said 'oh no, I like this tree I'm going to put a stop to you felling it'" I can't understand the hypocritical views. Ok to fell tree A because I don't like it but tree B is staying wether you like it or not. IMO TPO's shouldn't be granted without the tree owners permission, yes the tree owner, the one who could end up with a life time of grief and cost because someone decides that it looks nice and then toddles off unaffected by it all! Sneaky assessors and now sneaky arbs:laugh1: be careful posting threads on 'how would you tackle this job' 'how much would you charge for this' etc etc, someone might just try and stitch you and more importantly your client up. I am quite disgusted at what I've read tbh.
  23. Heres an idea, why not work with some of the local firewood merchants to help them out rather than tipping it all in land fill in the first place! The next thing you know some sneaky LA's will start pressurising the public into working on their 'dangerous trees and hedges'
  24. Tbh I see it exactly the opposite. Have more than on one occasion heard someone go on saying how easy and a piece of piss something is so they look 'harder'. Anyway your logic on 'dangerous' is flawed, I'll prove it to you later.
  25. Sorry mate I don't understand what you mean. You need a license by law, he doesn't need a license/traing or certs by law. If I would have driven past and seen him doing that job then I would have thought,":laugh1: what's he up to?!!!" but that would have been it. In fact I see something just as comical more or less every time I drive past the the gangs workin for the LA. (btw it is a very large private company and not LA employed staff) People not qualified/trained to carry out the task in hand, not provided with the appropriate ppe etc, etc. Ie grass cutters hacking trees. It's just not worth worrying about and certainly not worthy of fine like this guy got IMO. What I do think is worthy of a whine is when customers get blatantly ripped off or conned and employees or members of the public blatantly being subject to unnecessary dangers. Plus I think it's also worthy of a phone call to the appropriate body, as is a lot of other things that people turn a blind eye to when they shouldn't!
