Things have been back to normal for quite some time from what I have seen. Thank fook. The fact that people do seem to give a bit more space when out in public is no bad thing imo. Far better than folks breathing down your neck when queuing in asda, sorry I meant waitrose. All that goes out the window, on my part, when grabbing a beer from the bar down the local like.

Im not being funny but you did remove the plastic or fabric sack that they probably arrived in? It does look like lack of water as others have suggested. As also suggested they aren't going to make any kind of decent hedge. I'd pull them out, plant more a bit further away from the fence to not piss the neighbours off. Unless they don't mind like. Leylandii hedges are the root of many a neighborly dispute but then again so are plenty of other tree species.

I have seen I few cherry trees like that but they were still surviving quite well the last time I saw them.

Fair enough. Tbh I haven't read all your threads and posts on the subject so im not sure what questions you want answering or what information you're giving out. FWIW from what I have observed it doesn't kill healthy trees but it does smoother and surpress the growth of new plants.

I could point you in the direction of some decent weed killer but I don't want to derail the thread with big farmer. Ivy, it sucks when you have to remove it. That's all I have on the subject.

I would say it's a bit more serious than strimmer damage. Keep an eye out for any fungi this autumn. Some pics of the crown when it comes into leaf would be worth while posting.

Well at least I can appreciate that every time she came back with a bigger saw her arse stuck out that little bit further. I think that this is the most important thing to take away from this educational video, in my professional expert opinion of course.

I know that there are some upsides but I can't think of any right now as I still have a banging headache from homeschooling during the first lockdown.

Narrr. I don't think they blagged climate change due to forecasting an east west split. I doubt China and a hell of a lot of western business will allow an Iron curtain to fall, no matter what. Putin will be bulleted long before that happens. I just think that Putin is taking back what he wants (although not very well atm) and no one is going to stop him due to the threat of nuclear war which I think there is zero chance of happening. Time will tell.

Apparently the gov are dropping duty on fuel in the next day or two so it could be worth not filling up just yet.

I can see your point but I would hazard at a guess that if there was heave after the removal of trees an insurance company would soon be tapping on your shoulders. I have no clue as to what the costs are for repairing damage from heave but someone has to pay and I reckon the finger would soon find out who was responsible. Anywho if a customer did raise the issue and did have concerns about heave I would point them in the direction of a consultant, just to cover my back, like.

I'm surprised at how many people need a 600 million dollar yacht. Abramovich has two of them! I suppose it keeps a lot of people in work like.

Maybe so. I've dropped many a tree due to subsidence but never been involved in or know anyone who has taken a tree out which had caused heave. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen but as Mark J said it must be extremely rare. Besides is it even a big deal? Once the house has settled you repair it and job done. If there is potential for heave what do you do? I imagine you still take it out and then deal with the consequences. Insurances companies usually just want a quick fix.

If felling a tree of that size within that proximity to a house would cause heave then nearly all of us would be bankrupt from being sued to death. Just out of interest has anyone had any personal comeback from heave due to work that they have carried out?

Who knows what the real truth is behind Russia's invasion.whatever it is is no excuse for what is currently going on. If it is about NATO pressure, oil and gas exports then it's back fired somewhat, as far as I can see.

Cluster bombs, thermobaric weapons and now the possibility of chemical weapons. It seems like Putin is desperate for NATO to get involved. Hopefully it won't come to that but it doesn't look good for Ukraine no matter what.

Shirley there has always been a big gap between the rich and the poor and no doubt there always will be. At least in the UK the poor still have access to social care and healthcare and with a bit of determination they can pull themselves up the ladder. Good luck on the move to Sweden, I don't know what a frog dance is though 🐸. if it involves lots of beer then it can't be a bad thing.
