  1. sorry this is a bit long this was the first job I took the gopro on and instead of turning the thing off and on when I was ready I just let it run and had to sort through the whole vid for clips  wont do that again should have took josh advise so be gentle with it please ps part 2 will be better as there is more than just climbing in it
  2. No I don't but that was a big tree Nice one Tom
  3. very true  im just trying to sort a vid out of one side of the spruce but editing is taking me far to long
  4. :thumbup1:
  5. My Marlow rope is 45m once I got back down from my anchor I had 8m of rope left So that 18.5m to my anchor Just over 60ft to my anchor + 8ft-10ft of top I make that 68ft-70ft I only thought it was about 50ft the tree took me by surprise just keep cutting and looked down lol When I got sent that first pic I thought the trees where quite small
  6. try again matty
  7. I always find pictures really interesting ie most the time they lie I will post another pic up in a bit trying to work on my first GOPRO vid and peter ur right mate when im on the iphone its even smaller
  8. just looking trough pic of a job I done yesterday can come across this pic from the pic shown what high do u think the spruce is see who come the closest
  9. Ported husq sounds good Great job
  10. I use to run a 30inch bar On my 441 on a mill it was slow but it worked and milling is the hardest job a saw will do I think a 441 ported would run a 30 inch bar ok U want a job spud just to prove porting saws is the way forward
  11. Husq 560 or ported 357 Ported 372 fantastic saw This saw will cut like a 660 And because I don't have main jobs that go past the 3ftDIA trunk mark Big old beasty 076 luv using it makes me smile even though its heavy
  12. I'm good mate U forgot about me  Little girls growing fast 6 months now Pm Wolfie on here I strongly recommend ed top bloke and good climber There is a contract climber out in march i believe called Daniel fortuna I will make some calls see if I can get him Number

  14. If only u posted this yesterday I would have done u a favor rob But I'm booked now best of luck U tryed Ben lane
  15. sorry sent it on the I phone I will turn the pic round I think by looking at some of the pic on this post this could be Rigidoporus ulmarius I no the last pic is not relevant to Rigidoporus ulmarius but though it looked interesting
  16. Is this Rigidoporus ulmarius This chestnut has canker and honey fungus on it as well
  17. little vid for spud as I brought this saw off him put the settings to HD [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jygzUnMHugE&feature=c4-overview&list=UUoBfRiiQTembalglJKJlVgA]husqvarna 298 milling - YouTube[/ame]
  18. u mean the dogs
  19. nice big beech im after one of them my self 090
  20. keep me posted mate
  21. u got any cherry peter I might be interested in some holly I will have to pop over at some point and have a look I will be in touch soon just waiting for a address mate
  22. not really anything great but milled some chestnut that my mate he wants to use as 4x4 posts for a outside table and some 2in slabs to cut up for 2x4 for the under side of the table I believe he is going put walnut or elm on the top so be interesting to see once done
  23. I find elm mills quite easy Oak is hard on the saw Acasia is hard to
  24. If I was to start again I would buy a 36 inch Alaskan even if I only had a 25inch saw once u start u will work ur way up the saws trust me 660 will run a 36 inch bar on a mill U won't notice the difference in weighting the mills I still run a 30inch bar on the 660 with 48inch rail If u buy bigger than u think u can always run a smaller bar But if u buy the 24inch mill and buy a bigger bar and saw u have the cost of upgrading the mill Save ur self 50pound off the top of my head that's the price of a new ripping on a big bar Hope this makes sence Oh one more little point grandberg chain might be bit more pricey but it worth every penny Think I should be one of the sales team rob
  25. For the extra bit of money if I was u wooded I would buy the 36inch mill as u can alway put a bigger saw on it I first brought the 24inch mill for my 441 Then got a 660 and wished I brought a 36inch mill So brought 48inch rail set Brought 2 076 Now I wish I brought the 56 rails I think the best mill for small saw and big saws is the 36inch mill u have so many different size bars u can play with With out spending more money
