  1. Well? Did anyone try my "easy friday" pricing method? Did it work?

    my 201t utter

The chain was not tight, that bar and chain came off another 200 so that both were on a 12" bar for a fair comparison. The 201 normally wears a 14".

    my 201t utter

This was supposed to be a race between my 201t and a 200t, the 200isn't our fastest one and it wasn't particularly sharp either. The 201 was warm, I had already done some cutting with it, it dies under load as it did in the vid, it had stalled while I was cutting with the 200.. It came back from the dealer recently having been sent back for being gutless, now it is even worse. when it came back from the dealer it was just the same as it was when I sent it. ( I am not having a go at the dealer, presumably it has had all the treatment that stihl recommend) I am totally pissed off that I have spent a load of money on a total dog which will now have to go back to the dealer again, hopefully for a new carb..
  4. I have parallels, it is handy if you need it but it does slow the mac down. best to shut down windows altogether when not in use, don't have it running in the background, and don't allow it to have access to the internet. I bought it in order to run my sage accounts software but the accountants now have an incompatible version of sage so I don't use it at all. It does work though.
  5. 2-2.5 hours from you….
  6. Nice job Dave, Its funny, when you have some decent kit you almost always find a way to use it to your advantage, but once in a while there's a job that needs really thinking about.
  7. Its all about the kit that you have, that job could be done in 1 day with 2 guys and a roof mount with pto chipper, you could do it for £500 and still be making money. Doesn't mean I would though. I'd want £1400 if it was all coming off site, to leave it all maybe £850, but like I say it could be done for £500 at neighbour's rates.
  8. Lesson learned, its always worth asking if they want the stump out, especially if its up in the air and looking ugly.
  9. I was expecting this one.. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbVz2S6988M]Man tries to catch tree - YouTube[/ame]
  10. Thats the slowest chipper I have ever seen, makes the bandit 75 look quick.
  11. You can see the old one that came down years ago, wonder how long its been there?
  12. water wet logs will dry out much quicker than sap wet logs, so just stack them in the dry and wait.
  13. I was driving back the other day, I heard a rumbling noise and stopped, just as I pulled over I heard a ping… must have been the last stud.
  14. The jewsons blue ones are way better than the chillington ones or any of the diy centre rubbish.
  15. Wood ash contains highly soluble potash, which will make your soil alkaline, potatoes don't like this and will become much more susceptible to scab, potash stimulates flowering in plants so its good to use on crops where the flowers, seed, fruit are the desired goal, on crops where foliage is desired a high nitrogen diet is better. So for cabbages and other left greens lots of nitrogen. For tomatoes lots of potash. I like to let my tomato plants get big on the nitrogen rich manure that I have dug in and then drench them with watered in wood ash to stimulate flowering. The potash in wood ash is highly soluble so it needs to be stored in the dry, out doors the rain will soon wash it away.
  16. I know some one who has the same thing, his is plated as a 4.5 tonner I think, his is now 4 wheel drive after the diff in the centre axle with the through drive broke and it was a very expensive repair as they are a bespoke build, just make sure it all works. get it plated to 4.5 ton and you have a great distinctive arb truck...
  17. 3 questions, Are the feed rollers significantly faster than the road tow version? How much does it weigh? How much is it? Cheers!
  18. Roofmounts aren't that great in the woods, i'd go for a trailed...

Do they only make a 6"?
  20. How much are you gonna spend Rab? Capacity wise a 110 will be tiny, a 130 might be the same as your renault, but a different shape. Having coils on the back makes them tow so much better than all the leaf sprung pickups.
  21. Its true, they can be difficult to pronounce, for example Kretzchmaria deusta is actually pronounced, Kinackeredyer duemeninehundred.
  22. Great video, Good to see the old guy showing his skills, can't be many left like him now.
  23. I have one, I am really impressed with it, the wide opening allows it to really eat stuff, I'm looking for another one actually….. Where is it?
  24. How does a big tractor apply down pressure through the rear links? They are all single acting...
