Should I tighten or slacken them? Tractor does 40k only does it at near top speed.

hitch hook is ok, I wouldn't want to mess with the tyre pressures, I might try tightening the springs and see if that does anything.

does that have any adjustment on it? Mines a tractor type trailer.

I wouldn't normally rig / speed line small trees like that, cut and chuck, 550-650+vat

I'm based around edinburgh, I pay 20k + bonuses, so maybe 22-24k. Who is the job with?

The really dangerous ones are on slopes, on the flat, chances are the root plate will fall back into the hole it came from. If a tree has fallen down hill, it could fall the other way on top of the cutter. Multiple windblows are also dangerous as they can put unexpected tensions into the wood. We did some yesterday, one root plate had 5 trees on it, it was at least 12 foot high.

I have a red rock trailer with a sprung drawbar it has a 9.5 ton payload, when loaded it bounces a lot, building up a resonance giving a permanent bounce which clatters on the pickup hitch in an annoying way. The springs on the drawbar have bolts through them which could be adjusted, anyone know how to adjust them to get rid of the bounce?

Feckers. At least you're insured. I was thinking wether there was any way that saws could be made more obviously traceable at the manufacturing stage, or possibly when you buy parts you ave to give a serial number that is checked against a register of stolen saws. Then again I wonder how many saws Stihl and husky sell that are just replacements for nicked ones. It probably wouldn't be in their interest.

I remember shooting pigeons with my brother, they were sitting in the trees so he let off a shot to set them up. A 4" limb dropped off an oak right between us!

Cows are not killed for their leather, they are killed for the meat, if we all stopped using leather there would be just as many cows slaughtered as before. You can wear leather with a clear conscience, knowing that you are buying a product that would just be thrown away if it weren't needed.

No harm in learning a bit more relevant to the industry, doing some sort of college qualification part time can't do any harm. And it may lead you in a direction that you never expected.

Buy a quality crank for your socket set, one with a bearings in the grips, you'll soon spin em off.

advice/help with ifor timber trailer and crane

I came very close to doing the same thing, my problem: I never want to lift timber. I have an alpine tractor and loader which is great but takes up all the room on the trailer so I have to leave it on site if I want to haul stuff away, this is fine on a week long job if there is somewhere to store it, but often that isn't the case. I have bought a valtra with roof mount, and that is fantastic but not worth taking out unless there is a lot of wood. I looked into the 3.5t crane trailer combo and eventually decided that a decent crane would eat up so much payload that it wouldn't be worth the effort. However I did see a scissor fold crane that folds flat like a hiab and thought about mounting it on the rear of a landy and having a toolbox in front. then you can tow whatever trailer you like.... Maybe I'll do it one day... -
