  1. Hey John well done on your climb, quick question... how do you clean your carabiners? one of my steel lowering rope ones wasn't closing naturally! I think Silky's video will give a lot of encouragement for others to do the competition, 'cos it looks quite fun actually!

  4. Agreed, it sometimes doesn't see the light of day for a month... but then bosch... it's there when you really need it, and every time you use it, it's like Mmmmm arbor trolley, imagine what it would be like without it
  5. You need to link your youtube stuff Paul.... If you don't mind me putting it up... Which John is it... Mendiplogs?
  6. There's loads more your saving as well, besides energy, there's a lot less clear up, as in less timber to cut thus less saw dust, there is also less mess on the actual drag out and also your boots wear out less.
  7. Had issues with a kubota engine overheating on a vergers BC150. Eventually took the radiator off and got refrigeration fin cleaning chemical on it... now we have no issues. I know it's basic stuff, I just like to share things when they go right. I used this stuff EnviroCoil | Advanced Engineering[slider]/0/ Apparently road film cleaner also works well.

  14. Have you got the velcro padded tops on them? These would be a really sound investment and make them a joy to wear... also give them a bit of a sharpen, but not too much as you'll never get them out of the wood 8-) https://honeybros.com/Item/Bashlin_Velcro_Pads Velcro pads for Bashlin climbing spikes | F R Jones and Son

  16. I think that everyone says that the Ifor's... 'aren't built like they used to be.' There are a few threads on here recommending other makes which are cheaper and better made. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/large-equipment/73502-tipping-trailer-2014-8x5.html
  17. Apparently it's totally legal to have a crossbow...correct me if I'm wrong :-) Sent from my GT-N7100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Probably get a 12oz throw bag/weight as it is a good combination of weight (to be able to come back down over the branch) and light enough to go really high, and maybe get the Stein sky line as it seems a bit lighter than the Petzl airline. Just my experience with these products Pass out all your throw line on the floor before you shoot as it will probably tangle if you don't.
  19. That's really good to see the colour contrasting in the two pictures taken at different times of the day Sent from my GT-N7100 using Arbtalk mobile app
