    blowers

Your avatar doesn't do much for the mewp debate!
  2. Wouldn't they still have had the lock box to deal with, even if they pulled all the bars off?

    blowers

How naive. I just think that people should be looking after themselves a bit more. If you want to climb trees with a chainsaw for a living then you need to accept a few aches and pains as time goes by. Fair enough for basic H&S regs like PPE and LOLER checks, but there is a lot of crap aswell that is just about taking money from the small business owner. And holding a blower for 10 seconds is worse for you than not holding it at all - where do you draw the line?
  4. They make compost - obviously! Have you got a vested interest in the EA or something??

Don't you realise that the only reason there are so many H&S regs in this country is to provide jobs for knob heads in government.
  6. How? Do you keep punching them or something??
  7. Mine runs a 24" just fine, even when used to capacity.
  8. Don't you just hate those new fuel caps on the Husky saws? All gnarled up by your screwdriver within a couple of months. The old ones, where you just used your spanner as a lever, were much better.
  9. When I had a Timberwolf this problem occured regularly. I always found a hammer and punch the best way to do it, just remember that the punch has to be made of harder steel than the bolt and it needs to have a small point on the end of it to really dig in.
  10. One of those kinky Weaver harnesses I reckon, all leather and buckles!
  11. Your lucky BT didn't sting you for that Ed. They're about as much use as a marshmallow dildo around here. I've tried to get them out in the past to temporarily drop the lines but they just say no way - but then if you damage the line they're there within minutes armed with a £160 bill! Electric board are good as gold though - know most of the engineers from my powerline clearance days.
  12. Well if I ever go 'two up' in a mewp I want it to be with Anna - she's a babe!
  13. The older Greenmechs were terrible, crap rollers, bad design, but the new ones are excellent - will p*ss all over the equivalent Timberwolf.
  14. Yes that's true, but you can pay near on £17k + vat for a top of the range single cab.
  15. Nissan Cabstar 3.0DCi double cab tipper (3500kg), £18699 + VAT.
  16. You never get in your truck unless you've had a wash? I don't think most would go to that extreme.
  17. My Cabstar is brand new, cost £18k. I could easily get a 'proper' truck for that money but I don't need anything bigger.
  18. The X5 only really gets used when we all go out together, I use my truck if I'm going to be making a mess. Luckily for me my wife is a lawyer so can afford her own car aswell!
  19. Well that's the point - there's never the need to, because I don't use it for work.
  20. When you've been working in the rain you're going to have muddy boots, sawdust stuck all over you, wet dirty hands, so it's pretty impossible not to get the inside of your truck filthy dirty! In my opinion you cannot have a dual purpose vehicle in this type of work, it's always going to be a work vehicle. I'll stick to my X5 for shipping the wife and kids around in!
  21. I think someone should point out to you that what you have is actually a lawn mower - not a mini tractor!
  22. Well your wife/kids must be slightly different to mine because mine wouldn't appreciate being driven around in a prehistoric Landrover. You obviously must spend considerable time cleaning the inside of it though, because I for one wouldn't want to come home from work, get all cleaned up and then hop in a truck with mud and sawdust all over the place. And the point of crewcabs is to transport your 'crew', i.e. staff - not your wife and kids!!
  23. Surely it depends on the type of tree work your doing? If you spend a lot of time backing up peoples driveways with a Ford Transit I doubt whether some of the chippers mentioned in this thread would fit - or even if the Ford Transit would move!!
