  3. Your hoping Stevie will come along like the prince in cinderella with your lost shoe aren't you John
  4. Yes a very big thankyou to the organisers. I've been to some shows but this was very different, going to a show where you know most of the people that exhibit and attend is unique and I hope it continues, I hope there was enough footfall for exhibitors to give it another go next time because I think the footfall figure will be doubled the second year once others hear about it and what a success it was. Well done Justin, I understand and appreciate the work that goes into organising even relatively small events, hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did
  5. ...and poor aftersales service. They are quick to get back to you with the prospect of a sale but seem to forget when you want them to do some repair work
  6. I recon you'd have been in with a decent chance if you'd had a second go after watching which route everyone took and after your SRT lesson you'd have ascended in seconds
  7. Cheers Rich. ..............just in time to see Dean purposely drop through a fork to demonstrate a perfect recovery getting back ontop of the branch and still come in with a respectable time said whilst crossing his fingers behind his back
  8. Spot on Ian, exactly what I am thinking of only slightly smaller scale but the same joints. Many thanks mate
  9. Dont think he'll thank you for that one Ian, shame I didn't have any battery power on my camera to catch you calling Huuuueeeyyy the morning after the night before
  10. Nick was asked how much it would take to doctor the times but he was having non of it
  11. Why thank you Mick I take that as a nice compliment mate, unlike one of the more sensetive attendees on the day
  12. Yep, as Tommer says, just change your filters including air filter and it will more than likely cure your problem, just check the electric lift pump is working as it should as well
  13. Stevie, more or less got out of the car, went to the tree climb and climbed the tree without seeing others doing it or knowing where the targets werewhich I thought was a good time considering you went in blind !!
  14. Yes I felt for Mark, his friction knot was slipping as well. Even with his hangover he had everyone laughing, nice one mark
  15. Come on then, lets have your times for the climb comp. First attempt times as well lads, non of this practicing stuff. 5.53 Not bad for a 16st 45 year old that dropped through a fork and had to go back up through it and lost five seconds for not hitting the landing zone
  16. For hitching up the trailer they are invaluable, saves a lot of jumping in and out and lining up, just reverse straight back to withing 1/2 inch everytime
  17. Recently I've had a couple of hawthorn pricks turn a little nasty and swell up quite bad, the latest is on my forefinger, started off with a tiny pin prick and after three days it was almost ulcerated. Treated it with anti bacterial cream and it's immediately started healing, I also had a scratch on my left nostril which I wipe with the back of my glove, it too got infected quite badly. Today I wore some gloves and they absolutely stunk, they need throwing. Many of you will know that the smell is bacteria growing in the material feeding on sweat etc. You'll know from helmet headbands they can get smelly very quickly. This got me thinking, has the bacterial infection come not from the hawthorn but from the gloves ?? I actually wiped the scratch on my nostril with the back of the smelly glove. I reckon it is from the glove, it's a perfect transfer envioroment, hot sweaty wet gloves over an open wound. Something to think about and one of the things on my shopping list is a loads of gloves to be changed a lot more regularly.
  18. That is what, in a long winded way, I was trying to say
  19. Its very easy to tar everyone with the same brush, which is what is happening with both side of the "conversation" here. It would be nice if every student that grduated at college was your perfect worker, conciencous, hard working, had a sense of urgency when needed and knew what to do and what was expected. We all know in the real world and IN ANY TRADE that this isn't the case and I'd go as far as to say about 1 in 10 are GOOD solid workers. I interviewed 20 people for a paint sprayers job which involved spraying for BNFL contracts, so the standard was very high. Out of the 20 I interviewed I found one that was actually capable of doing the job. After a 10 minute introduction I handed each interviewee a pair of over hauls, a full spray gun and asked them to spray a panel I had set up in the spray booth. About ten of the wasters didn't even have a clue, one actually dropped the spraygun when it hissed at him unexpetadly To be a good student and worker, it has to be in you to start with. You also have to have a degree in common sense, which sadly half the population of the UK are lacking
  20. We haven't ALL picked over it, there has been very little response to it comparatively, there are over 3000 arbtalk members. So comparatively this thread has had very few negative responses. It could have had a lot more
  21. Hahaha Stock Gaylord from Shafts "bury"
  22. Yes but you've got to have a skin head haircut
  23. The forum is the perfect feedback tool for instructors who spew out "trained" student into a working enviroment never to hear from them again. Only a fool would be stupid enough not to see that
  24. I take it we'll be seeing very little of you on here then hopefully, the comment above is a wide sweeping insult to the vast majority that post on here
