  1. You will also need a second vehicle to carry all the cones, signs and barriers otherwise you wont fit the wood chip in. I have only ever won one job where proffessional traffic management was priced in. Lost a job last month where I priced in traffic lights, the crew that did it didn't bother, but imo it was far too dodgey a job not to use it
  2. The thing that worries me is that youtube is lifting (excuse the pun) with crane accident vids
  3. I just put "greek to english translation" in google and used the first that came up
  4. Hi you, it is not pollution with Greek
  5. No reason really J. I just presumed 11mm wouldn't be strong enough, have you added stiffeners ? If you can use 11mm GRP then ali will be a good bit heavier
  6. That white panelling that wagon box bodies are made of
  7. I'm still contemplating this For what its worth theres very little difference weight wise between 5/6 mm plate ali and GRP @ 14mm If I were to build one out of ali it would have to be out of plate and a self supporting box with no frame, so would have to be good at ali welding and some bending would be needed The welder needed for welding ali is dear
  8. Sorry Dave ! I can't help but laugh Check out your insurance policy mate, you might not be covered !
  9. The loss adjuster came out and tried it on with me with the mewp when I wrote that off. I got the full amount I insured it for, again, he tried to say it wasn't worth the full amount because it wasn't new, it was now used. I just started laughing and asked if he knew any more jokes, I pay a premium for a machine of a value stated on my insurance docs and that is the value I want. When I come to renew, I will give a lower value for a one year old machine. I too have been stung before so I give every insurance policy the third degree now
  10. Their only win win if you accept their offer and terms I offered to go to court and they paid out This time I gave them a value, they accepted the value as £12k no more
  11. Exactly ..and mine stated "Market Value not exceeding £12k" Like Dave said, just ask them to buy a motor exactly the spec, mileage and condition of the one thats gone missing, for the value they are offering.
  12. They tried it with me and I just kept refusing their offer, I pointed out I had been paying a premium based on my valuation or the actual cost of the vehicle in question not their guesstimate after the vehicle has gone. The next time I got a quote and they asked me the value, I asked them to come out and value the vehicle if they weren't going to pay out on mine if the worst happened. They were quite happy to go with my valuation Here we go again, but I'd like to know how you would stand in court
  13. It actually looks like Mick Stockbridge
  14. I would imagine a high percentage of it would be operator error Nick, just as you say. Trouble is in tree work, there's no way of weighing a peice before it's cut. Best to be safe and make sure all lifts are done in a way that puts the cutter out of the way of the boom
  15. The landrover is worth whatever you insured it for, if you put down a value of £6k then that is what you have paid a premium for, not what the insurance company thinks its worth out of some glasses guide. Dont let the insurance company get away with it, if they asked you what the value of your vehicle was then it will be on your insurance spolicy schedule and that is what you are entitled to
  16. and use that crane, make sure you keep out of its way and dont think things cant go wrong, they do [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKLNmj7-ods&feature=related]YouTube - mobile crane accidents[/ame]
  17. Looked at a Job in Halifax some time ago to remove some trees and replace elsewhere on site. Site was empty with permission to build one house and the trees were subject to planning conditions not TPO's so I've been dealing with plannning not the tree section When I looked at the job the foundation trench had just been filled, the builder was a nice chap, worked on his own with a labourer, one of these that takes time on his jobs to make sure they are right and does everything himself. Three trees to come down and replace I put in my proposals as soon as I got home from site. After numerous emails asking whats going on we still haven't got sorted and it has taken that long for planning to pull teir socks up the house is actually built and finished, bearing in mind one man has done the building How long does it bloody take to look at some paint spots on trees, agree they need to come out and ok the species and positions of the new trees
  18. Its only 15-20 minutes to take the whole hopper, roller housing and cover off to get good access
  19. LMAO, it stands out a mile when your sauced Tony
  20. Haha, deano had 4 pints of bitter and a bottle of wine the other night and deano doesn't drink I was sauced, I would have been on my back hadn't I got some practice in with the scotland getogether
  21. Tony, that is the biggest load of bollox post I have ever had to read You must have wasted at least 15 minutes of your life writing that -- you pee'd up or what
  22. Josh, move with the times mate, rachet straps are the in thing nowadays
