  1. You must watch this right through, it is totally bizarre. I couldn't tear myself away once I started watching it BBC iPlayer - Madness in the Fast Lane
  2. Only if they are in agreement Mark
  3. Putting things back together in the right place is easy. You buy two of everything, two MS200T's ect etc Then you you strip one down you have one complete one to refrence what goes where
  4. Good point there Dave and incentive to do the right thing
  5. Absolute class Mick, did you give him next doors address and sit out with a pint ??
  6. Anything with a scouse accent is a scam
  7. Nothing wrong with posting mobile numbers on advertising, if you dont want to do it dont advertise You just have to have enough common sense to realise what is scam and what isn't. I had a call from Virgin yesterday, the first thing he said was "for security purposes what is your password?" I mean come on!!
  8. One rule with Landrovers or range rovers. Only buy one if it earns money. Why anyone would buy one for pleasure I dont know
  9. I'd have given him £20
  10. Personally I win jobs by talking it through with the customer. Them getting a measure of your character / persona / body language / confidence whatever you want to call it, will win you more jobs than listing things on a piece of paper that they dont understand.
  11. I'll do that Cheers Rupe..big help mate
  12. The trouble is there, once you have done your generic MS and sent it to the client, they then want you to do it for every job, surely once they have a record of how good and safe you are they dont need to make you jump through hoops anymore
  13. He could hand a piece of paper to me that he has filled in with a load of generic codswallop and still do a rubbish repair
  14. Ditto that
  15. They all get carried away sometimes in the excitement.... like the one on tv that battered a door down during a raid and failed. They then tried the handle and the door was open Bit like these divs, the door was probably open
  16. So why do they need to I get a television engineer in to mend my tele, I dont want to know how or what he is doing step by step, I just trust his professionalism and skills. A method statement is not a clear sign of professionalism, even a dummy can fill one in, doing the job safely and proficiently is a clear sign of professionalism
  17. That's got to be professionally shot right ?? Absolutely stunning footage mate, looks like it's straight off National Geographic HD channel
  18. I agree mostly Dont you think filling in a mundane form will create complacency Paul. They shouldn't be used to insult peoples intelligence by listing the OBVIOUS, they should be used to get the people filling them in to think outside the box. Detailed Risk ass, I think do just that. If you can fill in a MS at home without visiting the site then whats the point of it. The SSRA should cover everything, the methology is down to why we are called proffesionals and go through training.
  19. Hard day Dave ??
  20. Never lets the side down our Mark does he ???
  21. Sorry, missed this one. I used the Snitcher bike alarm connected to a wagon battery that lasts twelve month between charges and used micros switches as the trigger. The alarm was less than £90 and I know whereever I am I will know the moment someone touches my containers
  22. I think the point I am trying to make is, if the person who is reading the method statement understands it to the extent that they can say that the way you are carrying out the job is wrong or right then they should be setting the specifications for the job and you quote to those specifications If they dont understand then whats the point, they should be employing someone to do a job that requires the skill, experience and training of the person they are employing What the point of me employing a computor technician to repair my computor and him telling me step by step what he is going to do if I still dont understand because I dont have the training or skill to understand I look at his qualifications, experience and ask for references rather than him write down on a bit of paper what he is going to do and how good he is going to do it and telling me what I want to hear, but not actually being able to do the job Method Statements dont prevent shoddy work
  23. Whether he is innocent or not to me has no bearing on the way the officers have carried out their duties. They jumped on the bonnet of a car that had pulled over and stopped (even if it was infront of the stinger) and proceed to kick and smash the shite out of it without even trying the door handle or giving the driver time to make the vehicle safe (notice it learched back) which could have badly injured someone He's a stubborn old man that has probably a hatred of the police for whatever reason, that hatred has now been fuelled beyond repair
  24. I totally agree with Risk Assessments, no problem with that wahtsoever, but this firm asked me to send them a risk assessment of the job a week in advance, so I sent an example and told them my risk assessments are filled in on the day to take into account events or risks that may be there on the day. Surely experience, qualifications and possibly an interview or trial should be the preferred method of appointing contractors. Anyone can fill in a method statement and tick the boxes that the client wants ticking but might be a right div or cowboy
