  1. It should have been, the micro truck will easily fit into the back of the tub.
  2. It is mate and it's got a towbar (-:
  3. What do you think about putting an Hilux back on the micro arb truck :big grin:
  4. yes its very hilly, I wasn't particularly trying either, it was about 50 mile on side roads and 160 mile on the M1 most of it on that 50mph restriction roadworks area
  5. I,ve had similar problems this week, loads of little ones available but no heavy duty
  6. did a run to derby and back yesterday in the Dmax with a big trailer and got 32MPG this time. I would have got a bit more but was getting frustrated with all the prats blocking the middle lane, so I started hassling them
  7. I have already warned her to be on guard for two lads coming up from down south, one with a geordy accent that smells of carling and one that looks like he works in an hairdressers. She's sat waiting with the 12 gauge for you
  8. Did a job yesterday and knocked on the door for the cheque. "How much do I owe you" "495" "but you have done loads of extras, it,s surely more" "no, thats fine, we got it all done in the time I allowed" Cheque was written out for £4950 "this cheque is wrong, It should be 495." "yes thats what you quoted 4950" 'but its four hundred and ninety five not four thousand" "your kidding me, surely you can't do all that work for £495, I was expecting £5k" "no madam, i,m a tree surgeon not a barrister" anyways, she gave me a cheque for £495 and £40 cash tip Even if I was bankrupt and desperate, I still would not have accepted the wrong amount.
  9. I took down a "Prunus SPP" yesterday, it was the subject of a tpo and permission was granted for it to come down. When I got there it was a 25ft high bay laurel
  10. I,m applying for a Lawful Development certificate for my yard in a wood and am stuck on the "use class" i.e. A1 A2 B1 B2 etc etc Does anyone know the correct classification or shall I just fill in "other"
  11. I think the red is fine, the sign writing is ok except the number on the "tool box" is it ? under the body behind the cab. I think its the red combined with yellow, it might be me but I don't think yellow goes with the truck colour. Could be time for a new chipper
  12. I don't want to be picky but I will... :big grin: The colour scheme and sign writing sucks... it might be just me but I don't like it. You've spent a fortune on the equipment but the colour and signing looks tacky and cheap.. Sorry to be honest
  13. I have never spoke about it before because I always thought it may be some macho thing, but now I couldn't give a monkeys. When I had a MEWP accident in 2004, me and another lad came down 45ft when the mewp suddenly tipped over. I remember everything going in slow motion, I remember every single detail. I had serious whiplash across my chest where I tore all the muscles with the jolt of hitting the ground. My passenger had broken ribs, leg, hand and head injuries, he started fitting, couldn't breath and I had to see to him. After that I lost all confidence in my equipment, harness, ropes,carabiners....anything that your life depended on. I wasn't afraid of heights, I was afraid of equipment failure at height. To a certain extent I still am, I will never trust anything mechanical 100% and double check everything. I won't even let anyone lower or service any of my equipment, I check everything myself. It took me around 4 years to get back into trusting my tackle and I only got there by forcing myself to go higher, farther out on limbs and to the point where I scared myself. No-one ever new because because I never shared it with anyone, not even my wife and thats despite working with many many other tree surgeons who are friends. I now wish I had and can see how silly i was by not doing so, all I can put it down to was pride. The only thing I can say is don't bottle it up, share it with as many people as you want. Now there is no problem at all, I,m back to speed and if anything a little over confident, I have to keep reminding myself how fragile life is
  14. Stay strong Sean, you know we are all here for you
  15. Cheers Marc, I was gobsmacked how much weight I saved by putting the alloy back on. I can't remember the figures but with a steel tipper back and 3/4 ply I was fully loaded with what I would call a 1/4 load. Now I have a what I would call a decent load in and it's just under
  16. No when I had the back made the fabricator must have confused cm,s with inches
  17. Ooh I don't know Mark, my backs pretty big, tool box on the front, ladders on top, extra groundy in the chipper hopper.
  18. A 130 with an aluminium 7cu/m back
  19. Do I understand this right, if the alloys are rated at 1000kg x 4 wheels = 4000kgs If you have weight on more than 3500kgs your over weight anyway and wouldn't be legal in the event of a claim.
  20. I was warned off putting the alloys on mine, so I did anyway, along with 30mm alloy spacers, they are still ok 10 years on despite carrying thousands of tons to my yard. Time and weight tested
  21. Todays 60 mile trip in Isuzu, cruise control set at 70mph
  22. No Jon, the awesome 300 ti with pump recalibrated to factory settings then the power screw wound in 1/4 turn
