1. I went to look at a new 90 and ended up with a 65. The 90 is much bigger in the flesh than in a booklet. The 90 is a big machine and would not suit domestic as well as a 65. If you do a few big jobs its a good machine all bandits are well built and robust
2. Yes Alec.. I,m afraid so. To be honest its left me on my knees in both monetary terms and mentally. I have a lot on at the moment and a lot has happened over the last 12 months family wise. It's not fair on the police but I nearly got arrested on sunday when I had the scrote in my yard and the police told me he would only get a caution. The poor coppers took all of my frustration. They are under funded and under staffed. I basically let go at them and told them if they didn't grow a back bone and tell their CO's constantly that all they are doing its turning up to places late and end up just filling in forms. Instead they should be able to turn up in minutes, catch the crooks, deal with them and hopefully stop a crime spree. They should emphasise to their co's that the public as a result are losing faith The problem is the troops on the ground won't whistle blow, they are either seeking promotion or just want to do their job and go home. My wife is has just been sacked for standing up and being counted in the NHS. The government encourage it, but then you are seen as a trouble make or loud mouth. Theres too many senior staff that just want an easy life, come to work do as little as possible and go home at the end of the day with no hassle. I can remember a time when there were that many bobbies, a beat bobby was always first on scene in our village. I tried holding 3 violent robbers in my yard for 25 minutes waiting for police to attend and I,m literally 2 blue light minutes away from huddersfield town centre. This same gang will probably be responsible for most of the commercial breaking and entering in this area, catch one pro gang you cut the crime rate significantly. Turn up to the scene after they've gone..... you may has well just get an office job filling in paperwork
3. I had another intruder yesterday lunch time. Caught red handed nicking logs with his 2 kids. He was locked up for the day (not by me, by the cops) reported to social services for having his kids with him whilst committing theft and then released with a conditional caution.
4. There is some recompense in that when they came back for a second time, I was prepared and took their truck off them with keys . Its been handed over to the police but you can bet they will just report it stolen and get it back.
5. It's is with great sadness that I have to share the news that Telula, my little truck is dead. She was stolen, beaten and violated in the worst possible way. I have her back home but she has been written off by the insurance. She was stolen last week in the 3rd of 4 break ins in the last 2 week. Telula had only 1800 miles on her clock so although an 05 was still as new and pristine. I have also got near on 150 hours of working on her electronics to bring her back to life when I bought her. When they take something you have put so much work into its hard on you. They also took my log grab, that is easily replaced
6. Just had the same, 4 burglaries in 2 week. Total damage and loss bill for all 4 is £15,800 Last night was the most recent, rammed my gate, took out half of the fence line, tied a ratchet strap to my container, bust it open, then Deano turned up. They tried to reverse out the yard but was still attached to the container. They had to do one and leave their truck. Leaving me in possession of an 06 plate Mitsubishi Canter. Had I been in my Landrover and not my Dmax they would have been squashed into the mud too. Dog van came fairly quick and tracked them for 1,5 miles but they had too much of a head start. Time to electrify the containers again, thought they had learned their lesson but obviously not, past caring whether they die or not

8.
I actually did the job for some one else, it took me over a day but it can be done in a day. It isn't a very technical job you just need a bit of mechanical understanding. The main thing you have to do is make sure it all goes back together without putting side load on the bearings and getting the shimming right
