  1. If you are not going wider or getting a larger saw in the future then stick with the PM48. 5/32"[4mm stone] for 3/8 Lo Pro chain. I like the larger mills weight as it keeps it flatter on the log - but this is personal preference - no once the middle bracket is set up it's not a faff to change - but it is a faff to get it set up and working well first time round.

  3. We have a new winch for the Panther mills [yes it will fit to other mills - this would be done by grinding the head of the bolt and sliding the head into the rail if it were a Granberg or Eco style mill]. Find it here - PWMKIII Panther Mk III Winch - Attaches to most chainsaw mills WWW.CHAINSAWBARS.CO.UK PWMKIII Panther Mk III Winch - Attaches to most chainsaw mills and it's the lightest winch out there. Comes with 12m of...

  4. Am going to post each new vid we do as an individual thread from now on - I think it then makes it easier to find what you are looking for and also adds more benefit to the arbtalk platform. Simple concept this yet what a game changer! It's almost [but not quite] as much so as the winch - use your large mill to mill a smaller tree - there is a limit ie. would not advise a 64" bar on an 18" tree. Set up: PM-60 60" Mill NEW Panther Winch set up [see other arbtalk thread in Panther sub forum] 42" GB Lo Pro Bar 20" Cherry Not only can you fit the larger Panther to the small 42" lo pro bar - find assembly to do this here P-ACA Panther Additional Central Bracket Assembly WWW.CHAINSAWBARS.CO.UK P-ACA Panther Additional Central Bracket Assembly. This allows you to fit a smaller chainsaw bar in a longer Pantehr... Add an additional internal skid assembly to the bar to enable you to do smaller logs find it here P-ISA Panther Internal Skid Assembly [Mill Smaller Logs With Larger Mill] WWW.CHAINSAWBARS.CO.UK P-ISA Panther Internal Skid Assembly [Mill Smaller Logs with a Larger Chainsaw Mill]. Positioning on inside of bar allows...
  5. Cheers for the support it's appreciated.
  6. It's the way ebay is set up that allows this to happen - luckily it seems it's a minority who abuse it - probably I should not let it get to me so much - being a seller it is bound to happen. I suppose the take away is to not be happy about the situation but be grateful it is few and far between.
  7. Thanks for the support - but it's one of those things... and I expect Karma will catch up with him at some point or another.
  8. As an add on to this - we sold a 28" GB bar and x2 ripping chains to someone on ebay - he used them then e-mailed to say he didn't feel the 560XP should be driving a 28" bar and he wanted me to print a return postage label so he could return the bar and chains for a full refund. I said no - he should not have used them if he felt too large for the saw. [If he had returned them unused we would have refunded]. He contacted ebay who upheld his case he had been sold defective goods even though there was positive feedback for the same item from other buyers who had bought for the same saw same purposes. Ebay auto refunded... So he kept the bar and chains, got refunded and left negative feedback [I am not allowed to leave negative feedback for him]... and to add insult to injury I got this message today. Smug git!
  9. I believe it's more fashionable these days to say 'you do the math...! Sorry wee joke there!
  10. Can't do the maths as there are no accurate figures to go on - the figures look neat and tidy but there are so many variables and unknowns they may not be close to accurate. Stating 216 arbtalkers dead is using an extreme statement to add weight to your argument. It's likely that after this is over there will have been deaths amoungst arbtalkers. And it's trying to balance that with how much do we limit our freedoms and still live with the knowledge that some of us will likely die from this.
  11. As said - why are we not focusing on keeping ourselves healthy? Info on better foods for your immune system? Money for older people who perhaps can't afford to eat organic food? Better community and looking after your neighbours? Healthier lifestyle and exercise? Using the lockdown to eat less fast food? Someone give me at least a couple of reasons why these are not being advertised on TV instead of this constant drive that a 'magical vaccine' will be developed that will someone make everything ok again..
  12. So we are told - again could be true and may not be true - we will likely never know.
  13. You can't say it's not possible with certainty - you are not an expert on this. And don't put the responsibility of 216 dead arbtalkers onto me because I have a different opinion to you. I didn't cause this virus. A good example of an extreme statistic to backup a weak argument.
  14. Yep but again the worldometer is not proven fact - it is the worldometer and so how much weight do you give it? I think the mortality rate is very very skewed in favour of showing as many deaths as possible [my personal opinion]. There seems to be a feeling of 'if you can mark this death as COVID'. In the USA [again only read online in random places] they get more money for treating COVID patients - so if you were a cash strapped hospital [again in the USA] what are you going to do?
  15. Yep - pretty much like all the statistics then. We have no true idea of the true facts about this illness - that much is clear! What seems an underlying fact is that it is not dangerous to most of the population. So then why are all the population locked down? [I have heard the nonsense reasons for this - they must be nonsense as otherwise why is the lock down being lifted now?? It goes against the original reasons for the lockdown. If the lockdown was to stop the massive surge of cases on the NHS - then in theory it needs to be kept in place until the 'vaccine']
  16. I don't disbelieve that - it's possible isn't it? What if that were true?
  17. Very hard to get facts but from what I gather testing is not accurate. So if testing is not accurate then does it matter if there is testing in place or not? The original doctor who was ill and died with it - even though displaying symtoms for days [again who knows about the authenticity of anything read online: After several negative tests, on 30 January he was finally confirmed as one of thousands of coronavirus patients, he said on a social media post, along with an emoji of a dog with its eyes rolled back and tongue hanging out, the BBC reported. “Today nucleic acid testing came back with a positive result, the dust has settled. Finally diagnosed.”
  18. Have you done much research on this? I have done a bit... [around 2-3 hours]. 1) They don't know the numbers of how many were killed with any accuracy 2) the first wave was not that fatal [1-2% mortality] the second was like a different illness altogether and killed very fast with a mortality of around 20%. So I thought about that - the second wave gave a much higher mortality rate with very different symptoms. Hmmmm - maybe the second wave was a completely different illness to the first! Also this was at a time where troops were packed on ships and sent to all sorts of places around the world which was the main source of spread. If we get something like this second wave - we are pretty screwed. But since 1918 we haven't much worried about it... it's always been a threat yet we have have managed to live with this threat since 1918. COVID is nothing like what this illness named Spanish Flu [but the illness that killed millions was nothing like the flu so not a great name for it].
  19. Cheers - we do offer budget options but if feedback is it's cheap and crap we discontinue it.
  20. There is so much red tape and paperwork so that you can legally store card details. If you do it you need to have all sorts of systems in place for how you take them/how they are stored/who has access to them/security measures/process should card details be stolen/how long before they are destroyed - the list goes on... This is why a company like Paypal has done so well as they simplify the process of at least standard taking payments.
  21. I read the above twice and think I have what you are saying but excuse me if I have misinterpreted it. I don't think ignoring guidelines is about being selfish or being superior - I can say now here in writing I have not abided by the guidelines myself and will continue not to do so. Not to the letter anyway. I will respect others by maintaining social distancing if they wish and I will self isolate if I am ill as well as good hand washing practices. But I've been out for hours at a time during the whole lock down with my family and usually twice a day. We are fortunate enough not to live in a city - maybe my attitude would be different if we did live in a town or a city but the plain fact is - we don't. This could change human society for ever - but only if we allow it to.
  22. There could well be worse to come - but it makes more sense to me to focus on encouraging people to get healthier - more exercise, less stress, better food, better family life, better community. How much £ is spent in this direction? Since lockdown how much more are you drinking? I'm up around 30-40% on my pre lockdown intake...
  23. Yep - even to take card payments is hard.... but to store card details and then get that to work well with your website is a lot of work and more fees. Hence when you buy off most websites unless they are a good sized company ie. I dunno I'd say around £10 million a year + you will always put in card details. I'm not saying it's impossible - but it requires outlay and a lot of form filling as well as higher processing fees to do it. Plus you need to have it securely and smoothly integrated into your site. Yep it could be a case for the Competition and Markets Authority - but who has time and energy to do this...
  24. Thanks - hold onto your £ for now as we may do a 48 hour flash sale [one off before the dealers are selling these]. It'll be as a thread on arbtalk in the next 7-10 days.
