  1. Have you got your own PPE? What days are yon free?
  2. When using the pantin if you keep the pressure maintained the SJ will slide up and down freely. You have to take the pressure of the pantin to get the SJ to bite!
  3. These are the importers: http://www.artcom-tradebridge.com/images/IronHorse_prod.info.pdf Some good videos on here, have a look at the wheel horse, very impressive!
  4. Cool! Love the gold nugget inset.
  5. I don't often use a wire flip line, in fact I cant remember taking it out of my bag!, but when I do I make sure there is a soft link.
  6. Loved my 90xp but it was very heavy! Didn't like conifer brash but loved wood!
  7. When doing big willows like that I learnt very quickly to have a central TIP whilst doing the gob cut, I then undo my strop. One slam dunk from a 30 foot top is a quick learning curve! Even though the cuts were good and the middle was bored and with a set of ears it still split out!
  8. I use SRT all the time, it's the way ahead!
  9. Just use a small cut away from the SJ.
  10. What if the rescuer is on SRT? He could use the hitch, pulley and second line but how many people have a dedicated spare rescue line?
  11. by tying a not you will loose a lot of the ropes strength.
  12. How have you fastened the ladder?
  13. The ones I have seen are not rated with a SWL.
  14. You thread the wire fid in through the opposite end, trap the tail and pull back through.
  15. You probably have all the tools in your toolbox. Start with Tennex or another hollow braid, very easy, wife guide on any of the major rope manufactures web site.
  16. I am not knocking your qualification, I feel it's only a matter of time before DSC 1 & 2 will be compulsory! Good luck with your L2. 8)
  17. The Spiderjack is excellent with Tachyon, I find poison ivy bouncy.
  18. When doing SRT I use a frog walker system with a hand ascender, foot loop and a pantin on the other and my lanyard over my shoulder and pulled tight onto the top of my unicender. This pulls it up as you advance. It would be the same system with the RW.
  19. Almost anyone could pass DSC 1. It does not and is not designed to teach you about deer management. The advanced stalkers or managers course is a very different matter. It shows you how to manage a deer population.
  20. It allows you to use it on a SRT line, it takes just enough friction of the SJ to allow descents under load and under control. You do not get the sit back either like you do with a hitch.
  21. The RW does work with the SJ, actually i think the Lock Jack is better because of the top ring and also because its mountable mid line. Not going to get one though not when I have a SJ in my bag!
  22. You tried Stump busters in Mersea? They have big machines, don't know about cost though.
