  1. I like this idea, but they are not man enough for serious work which is a shame! Climbing Gear - Pictures Spider Rope and Conector
  2. Does it look like this?
  3. Jim,

Just had time to get back to you! Give me a bell and we can have a chat. Paul

  4. Where is it?
  5. I would say your body will love you for using SRT, mine does!
  6. 80m Marlowe static with a unicender.
  7. I suppose you should have a right and left but I have both right as I can not bring myself to buy an unfortunate bit of kit(left handed). I have the ISC ascender, it's quite bulky but I like the ability to be able to use the locking cam to secure the rope in place.
  8. Kevin, when is the ZK-2.0 out and will it be mountable mid line?
  9. I like that! Very cool!
  10. Forgot to mention that the 3rd length should be in the tub and not part of your working line which should just be long enough for you to reach the ground.
  11. Yes if base anchoring, 2 lengths to work with, up and over and at least 1 length to lower you down. Not advisable, what if the knot gets caught on a stub and the casualty gets stuck? How big s trees do you regularly work on?
  12. Well done Mike! Did you use Teckels or Jagd terriers or even Kopovs? Like the drilling! My Hanoverian pup is coming on! No elk or boar?
  13. I pulled a poplar over with my dynaglide!
  14. Base jumping is illegal in the UK as far as the BPA are concerned!
  15. I find a static line best but I also have used Tachyon but there is a bit of bounce. You will need a long line for rescue purposes, 3 times the height minimum.
  16. Ian as above, by using the hand ascender with a revolver you use less kit as you already have the hand ascender.
  17. This should answer your questions. Check out this video on YouTube:
  18. I know which is the easiest and my body knows the difference!
  19. You wouldn't drop but you would find it über hard to move it in true SRT mode.
  20. Try using a clip instead of a crab to attach the tether that should reduce the length. I dont think you need a rated crab after all the RW is not rated and is only designed to add enough friction to allow the hitch etc to work SRT.
  21. Ian, depends on the job. If its a reduction I normally clip a revolver and sling in as I normally start at the top and work down one side at a time as you have to go up to do the other side. On a takedown I sometimes don't bother with the sling as the limbs coming off anyway and as I'm on SRT it's no problem climbing up any way!
  22. Experiment with your tether length.
  23. My lines are 80m and is ample for most trees. You would need 3x the height minimum to rescue from the floor. Good luck!
  24. If your TIP is a running bowline you would have to pull a lot of rope though to have a working tail that reached the floor or a very short tail with the rest of the rope as the working side. This would mean you would have to hall all your rope with you! Is this what you do? The advantage of the Alpine Butterfly is you can make just enough length so you can still reach the ground but not have loads of excess rope to drag around and it's retrievable from the ground.
