  1. What’s that in the background ? Is there a target? What control measures would you put in place? Questions, Questions…
  2. Is it to get a highway contract mate ? If so inc stumpgrinding.
  3. You could do one for a 30mph zone (small coves, hi viz vest etc) One for a 60mph zone(large cones, full hi viz with sleeves etc) and perhaps one in a busy town (30mph zone and lots of pedestrians) extra banks men, barriers etc etc….
  4. Excellent Pics, lovely light - Now go back and scribe 'Arbtalk' on that Ganoderma!
  5. Just be careful you don’t effect the reliability. I went the other way on my Discovery – Silicone and stainless steel induction pipes, larger inter-cooler, K&N etc… You can even get a performance exhaust for it….at a cost!
  6. Ditto with the Caterham. I've got a soft-spot for these as well....
  7. ....thats made your day, week and month Andy! I'm surprised it took you that long to post! Lovely car by the way.
  8. I go to Prescott every summer, if the sun’s shining you just can’t beat it! My very first car was a Tartan Red Mini Cooper – 1380cc! After that I had a little blue Mini 1000HL. I moved up in the world after that and bought a white 1972 MG Midget which I ran till it fell to bits! That was replaced with a British Racing Green 1974 MG Midget – that was a lovely little car, I sold it when I want up to Cumbria to work with the National Trust. I ran (don’t laugh) a Fiat Panda for years after that – it was a cracking motor and want like the clappers. In my later (more mature) years I’ve had a blue Peugeot 106 Rallye, a white 106 Rallye and now I’m running my Discovery, which has run faultlessly for nearly 4 years! I’m desperate to get something nippy again…..

    Wind

Hiya G. Personally I love wind, trees come alive when the wind blows and it can be exhilarating to experience strong winds while climbing, however I’ve had to climb a few damaged and un-safe trees during storms (call-outs) and that’s not so nice, you just want to get the job done and get the hell out of there.
  10. I’ve been told the Environment Agency boys can’t (not allowed) to climb anymore, ever since they were fined by the HSE. (One of their climbers severely injured a leg when pollarding a willow. Apparently be put a top-cut through a branch, it split and took his knee-cap out)

  12. Cracking Video, well done! Are we Brits pioneering helmet cams and tree climbing ? Tempted to get one myself. One question though….How do all you guys communicate with that music blaring out all the time ? Bet the neighbours hated it!
  13. Time for a re-pollard me thinks.....
  14. Unnecessary H&S. Did you know we can’t use the jet-wash at work unless we’re wearing protective eye wear, gloves, a full set of waterproofs and attended a training course! Give me strength!
  15. I remember the last lot of storms, I was getting all excited, watching the weather forecast, sharpening the saws, checking I had plenty of oil and petrol…..then finally when it did come – Jesus! I wish it hadn’t! We were none stop for a period of two weeks clearing-up. Must be getting old!
  16. You are kidding Steve?! I’ve got some new ropes hanging in the stores, told the inspector about them and he confirmed they didn’t need testing. Common sense prevails!
  17. Not AA registered companies, just the AA. I'm not going to go into that here though.
  18. I love the series 3 Pick-ups! They look like big Dinky-Toys!
  19. Black and white in my book Lee. PC plod isn’t going to arrest you if he witnesses a little snedding with an 0200. If there is a (serious) accident however, while using the 0200 on the ground I expect the HSE will descend on the owner of the business like flies! I’ve done a risk assessment on the 0200 and a method statement for ground-works operations. They both clearly state that 0200’s are not to be used on the ground. The guys have read it and signed it (just in case I’m off site) I don’t intend to be sent down by the HSE.
  20. Sorry mate, mention 'AA' and I go off on one! .....Just made the form myself on word, easy to do. I think LOLER is all too easy to brush under the carpet, which is all well and good untill something goes wrong. Wouldn't want any of us to be asked for our LOLER inspection records by the HSE - be even worse if we didn't have any!
  21. Phone gets 'turned off' when the wind blows...
  22. Like I said....its just an example. I'm not AA approved so wouldn't give a monkeys ar*e if its suitable or not. Make your own form up...the form my lads use is a hand-written version of that, as long as its got a date and a signature its fine in my books. My training records tell me who’s qualified and with what, so no need to put that on the LOLER sheets.
