A private punter is only expected to have a ‘reasonable knowledge’ of a contractor. For example, if he or she brought you out a cup of tea and they saw you logging-up in your best denim hot-pants and open-toe sandals, then went back inside (just before you lopped your leg off) the magistrate might take a dim view of him/her.

Say what you like cutter - I didn't fell it, and if I did I wouldnt of hid it.

If you are a safety officer or hold ANY position which is senior to your work colleagues, i.e. manager or team leader and you witness something which might be dangerous, and you don’t act (e.g. pull someone up for using a 0200 on the ground) then you, yourself have sanctioned an un-safe working practice and could/would be liable should an incident occur after you have left that working site. Beware!

Ditto. I’ve had my Discovery for three years now and it’s never let me down. Its done 135,000 miles and still on the original clutch!

You’ve either always hankered after a Land Rover or you haven’t. Before I bought my first I was buying the Land Rover mags’ for months and months, reading the reviews, learning about the mechanics and keeping an eye on the prices. No one here will be able to talk you into buying one (only you can do that). They are good vehicles and if you buy one you buy into an institution that’s for sure! Good-luck….
