  1. If you work on the highway, using signs, cones etc; you should have it anyway.
  2. It would be a shame if they ban campers (I was going to buy a tent specially!) We could have a little ‘Arbtalk Village’!
  3. just walk the hedge before hand, if they are nesting...walk away.
  4. Bathurst Estate, Cirencester, Glos. GL7 6JT England. There must be some members on here with some pics.....?
  5. Spring is on the way and already I’m looking forward to the AA Trade Fair this year. I’ve always gone on the Friday before but this year I’m thinking of making a weekend of it (maybe bring the tent, cool box and a case load of Becks.) There are enough active Arbtalk members on here to help make it a weekend to remember, (could even have our own beer tent/stand!) What’s everyone’s plans/thoughts?
  6. Yes we are, and we still have it. I'll pass on your contact details to a chap called Jason Gilchrist (he's our buyer)

    Cheers,

    John.

  7. I’ll second that! Do you have a pic of the crown?
  8. Are we talking about Pollarding, Re-Pollarding or ‘Topping’? If your pollarding it then I assume it’s been Pollarded before, if that’s the case I’d say carry on with that regime. If the tree has never been ‘Pollarded’, then we’re talking about topping, which will produce a mass of long, vertical re-growth which will look a bit naff! However, its still better than removing the tree, plus there is the added bonus of going back in three years and pollarding it.
  9. Oh-dear Preview your own post, before posting, and............... Dude, list your pictures on the same thread, no need for seperate threads for each series of pics…..makes viewing easier too!
  10. Dude, list your pictures on the same thread, no need for seperate threads for each series of pics…..makes viewing easier too! All in one now, hope they follow in sequence!!
  11. Very nice pics! What camera do you use ??
  12. That’s cheap – how many guys would you put on the job at that price? Madclinber....you remind me of someone....
  13. For £60? Hardly ! lol If it was NPTC it'll be £160!
  14. They are good saws, well done! I use white at work, but orange at weekends, good ground saws.
  15. 3 x £450. Could you talk the owner into removal and re-plant, instead of ‘pollard’? I only say that because of all the targets underneath, the re-growth, tight branch junctions and associated break-out.
  16. That’s a fair and understandable comment! I notice the new replacement part is steel and not brass and I urge any other Vermeer owners to check theirs! I was lucky, I only last a cup-full of oil before I cut the engine. If you have a Vermeer…..Have a look tomorrow, could save you ££££’s
  17. We were doing a bread & butter job yesterday (tidying up some old Willows). Just about to start the last tree and I happened to glance down and noticed out Vermeer had disgraced itself and leaked oil all over the path! Quick phone call to Vermeer UK, turns out it was the brass engine-block fitting, that leads to the oil pressure switch, that had sheered off. I had a call back from them at 4pm yesterday, confirming they had the replacement parts in stock. 9am this morning they were delivered, we were away on the road by 9.30am. What a service! Well-done Vermeer... Forgot to mention, the chipper is a month out of warrantee, the parts were supplied FOC.
  18. Dude, if you had your rifle you could of retired by now.....Look!!
  19. Unless of course the Cherry was planted in ’76. If it was and you fell it, the house may fall down..lol
  20. Nice pic Tony....may I ask what the exposure was on the photo ?
