  1. I’ve been keeping my eye on a new Logun Mk2 for some time now and the dealer has just dropped the price. Only trouble is its .22 rather than .177 which I used to own. There is a .177 over in Bath but it’s an extra £150! Dilemma, Dilemma…
  2. Wish there was such thing as reincarnation – then maybe, just maybe I could have my time again and be as proficient as you Reg, damn all those wasted years!
  3. How far did you walk MrT? I got soaked today, only took one pair of boots and had to drive back in soaking wet socks!
  4. Yes they could mate, but I’ve picked the trees for the last 9 years – if we get a couple of Duff ones my head would be on the block! These aren’t the best I’ve had but if they arrive un-scathed they should be ok. Was chatting to the forester and asked him if they get much theft – apparently not, although they do have big problems with people driving up in box vans and filling them up with fire-wood!
  5. Just come back from Kielder Forest, 560 miles to choose two Christmas trees! Choice was limited this year but managed to pick out these two – what do you think?? The view across the water is Kielder Dam, not much of a picture as the weather was pretty awful.
  6. I love this kind of stuff, well done!! Just look at their faces - they loved it, fantastic!
  7. Cool pics Mozza, and as a frequent visitor to cemeteries I can honestly say that’s one tidy burial ground!
  8. Haha, not anymore! (It was shot - all of it, no-good to anyone except as firewood (or so I thought)
  9. Took the two Monkey Puzzles down this week, they’d been standing dead for approx two years (so well seasoned); ringed it all up and thought I’d take my chance and pop it over to a local fire-wood dealer………….they didn’t want it!!?? Anyone know how it burns??
  10. Thats not a rustic Trellis - thats a rustic cycle carrier! Excellent I'd get some thinners and a rag though, some low-life has sprayed your number plate dude!
  11. Ditto, except I haven’t forgotten it – I’m just not going to tell you. There is no substitute for buying the books and learning for yourself, plus you have the added bonus of having the books for the rest of your life.
  12. NPTC every time, as it’s independently assessed.
  13. Most of it is standing dead or nearly dead - it'll all go back to the yard, after that - help yourselves! ...... .....got to win the job first though.
  14. I’ve got to put in a price to fell 56 riverside Alders – maybe I should buy a log-burner!
  15. The weather is looking pretty settled over the coming week so how about a little social at Westonbirt Arboretum next weekend? Sat or Sunday – I’ll go with the consensus. Bring yourself, bring the family, but definitely bring a camera! Here’s the link to the Westonbirt thread – http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/members-only/9836-heads-up-westonbirt-arboretum-2.html#post178287 Link to the Arboretum - Forestry Commission - Westonbirt - The National Arboretum
  16. Are there two of you working in the basket??
  17. Try these people......Autosparks, World leading supplier of classic car wiring looms £272 for your model.
  18. Nice to see a little activity on the old Landrover thread. Don’t forget the dedicated group, the group of all groups! Found here….http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/groups/land-rover-appreciation-group.html
  19. Haha, no it doesn’t – this thread is for people who appreciate the off-spring of our beloved Lode Lane.
  20. Joe, I have two big regrets in life – one of those is not joining the Army (wont go into the other one) I think a lot of us Arbs would have done well in the Army, indeed there are a fair few ex service men that have left the forces and are now in our industry. I think we all have that sense of adventure, the love of the outdoors, the adrenalin rush and don’t forget the male bonding! If that’s what you really want to do – go for it, don’t spend the rest of your life thinking ‘if only I had’. Good-luck.
  21. I replaced the hoses ages ago with some posh silicone ones – cheers for that.
