  1. Cove Handjob - Very Nice!! Like your style! Proflex - Bet you wish you still had that now, worth a few £££'s Looking at the Cove Frame - Your no short arse by the looks of it!
  2. Yes you can Dean, it just depends what sort of shoes you buy. You can get shoes that look like ordinary trainers; you can even but sandals that will take SPD cleats. I’d maybe but a cheap bike for popping to the shops and keep your new one as a dedicated mountain-bike. It’s a quality bit of kit, shame to waste it.
  3. You’ll screw your knees up as well Dean. Pushing down hard and not pulling up (esp. at our age) will bugger them up. If you just push down your only using one muscle group – share the work-load throughout your body mate. You’ll be telling us your pushing a big gear next!
  4. Mozza - while your bike was being repaired some low-life nicked your SPD's and put some cheepo things on!
  5. I used to have MG Midgets and had springs made-up for those many years ago. As soon as I sat my bum in the seat, the drivers side dropped and they were never level, it kind of put me off going down that road.
  6. Here’s mine, complete with slightly iffy front spring….
  7. Has anyone else had problems with the front springs in their Canter 6.5’s. I’m now on my second set which is costing me valuable down time, not to mention £600 for an up-rated pair! Mitsubishi said the old pair has been overloaded which I find it hard to believe. Its also odd that up-rated springs are available because if the O/E springs were fit for purpose there wouldn’t be any need for up-rated springs!? Now I’ve already cut down on the Mars-bars and kit-Kats so it can’t be me – any ideas??
  8. Well done!! I hate NPTC tests, no matter what it is I’m my own worst enemy and put myself under so much pressure. Best feeling in the world when you pass though! Which units are on the cards next ??
  9. I’m thinking of doing the part-time Foundation Degree in Arb at Moreton Morrell in September. Has anyone else done this course or had any experience with the college?
  10. Wise words indeed – Well done Adam!
  11. Good idea Can you pick me up on your way......I'm in Worcestershire.
  12. Many congrats on the 1000th post Mark.
  13. Cheeers Steve - We can all have out bed time fix now...(Arbtalk, nothing else you understand)
  14. I hope you all noticed I purposefully listed my trees in easy, simple to understand terms. Tut tut David, shame on you.
  15. Mine would be…. Ash Norway Maple Sycamore Cherry Oak
  16. I’m at work – been out on a site meeting already this morning, back in the office now sorting out questions, answers and an ID test for tomorrows interviews.
  17. Morrissey rode off on it - never to be seen again, so I built this up....same Fat Chance Frame with a bit of purple thrown in.
  18. I’ve resisted the temptation for too long, so here goes…… This was my first - a Fat Chance ‘Yoeddy’ in Grellow, bought around '92, made by a chap called Chris Chance in the States. Cost me a fortune and some bugger nicked it years ago.
  19. I’ve just been recruiting for a new post and this time I’ve stipulated that the ‘pre ’97 license’ / C1 +E is essential. (last time we recruited it was listed as desirable). I’ve been speaking to all the local colleges round my area and stressing how important this ‘qualification’ is and will be in the future. They need to include this in their syllabus for all Arb students in my opinion. Employers need people who can tow a big chipper – Simples. 20. Those are lovely! Just wish I had the time to have a go myself.
