  1. Took this pic this afternoon, half an hour on photoshop and I have a half decent picture...
  2. we have a lovely one here in Worcester, will post some pics when it flowers.
  3. The tree is on the edge of a farmer’s field but very close to the main Evesham to Worcester road. I’d imagine the work has been spec’d from Highways. Respect to the guys who carried it out but I am surprised Mr Farmer didn’t just pull it over with ye-old tractor.
  4. Errr…yes Tom, someone pruned a dead tree (very well) in fact, bit odd though...
  5. Drive past this every day, do you think it'll fluff-up a bit??
  6. Very impressive bit of work that, I’d post some pictures on some of the many ‘Bird Spotting’ forums – Networking is the key!
  7. Not far off the mark for L/A's these days.
  8. Nice to have another interest, other than those sodding trees...
  9. Very nice Dean... I'm after another D700, have to post some pics taken with a D700 of a D700! lol
  10. Hi Andy, I have no posts available at the moment, however it might be beneficial for you to join Back-up Staff in Worcester as we use the agency for temporary staff. Once your on their books I’m allowed to request specific staff who have professional qualifications such as yourself. Let me know if you do register. Regards, John.
  11. Yes mate, that’s Worcester alright. It must have been you that spotted the Kretzschmaria on the Beech on Droitwich Road – good call
  12. lol, took it down to 3 feet (Usual council spec). We debated whether to carve a doughnut, pie or maybe even a collated artery!
  13. I should think so Steve, reccon it’ll be a good 12 months before its all sorted out as the shops are going to claim for loss of earnings, I’ll be putting a decent sized bill in though..
  14. He was fine, just a little streses about it all! I offered him a cheese and onion slice to cheer him up but he refused (guess he was in shock!?)
  15. I made the executive decision to close the shop (for health and safety reasons you understand). The girls had just baked the mornings pies and steak slices and guess what – they had to give them away!!
  16. A little bit of excitement in the otherwise none-eventful lives of 3 L/A arborists. Had a call at 8am this morning about a lorry hitting a tree in the city centre, now we get these a lot and to be honest its usually just a few branches and twigs – so imagine our surprise when we turned the corner and found this little lot!
  17. Microsoft Image re-sizer - http://www.microsoft.com/Windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx Download it then just right click to reduce the image size...
  18. Ditto to that! A timely reminder to what they can do though.
  19. I’ll second that, he’s a thoroughly nice chap! Thanks for the heads-up
  20. Thanks for the kind offer Paul, I’ll see what the workload is like next week. The choice of software we’re using has all got very political as it’s the same company that supply software for all the play equipment etc… Basically swings and roundabouts (assets) have been turned into Oaks and Acers and I’ve been told to ‘get on with it’. Its not asking much to have a map based recording system, surely??
  21. Hi guys, just a quickie (and this is particularly aimed at L/A bods) - What tree survey software packages are you guys using? I only ask as the one we use (Stay-safe) does not have in-built mapping and I’m finding increasingly frustrating wondering around the city with paper maps blowing about in the wind! Any recommendations and an approx cost would be great. Thanks, John.
