  1. I just happened to have the camera in my car this morning so thought why not! Recently bought a 1.7 teleconverter which worked well on the high shots…
  2. A few random pictures of a job we started today at Worcester Crematorium. The tree suffered a major failure some years ago and the twisted, vigorous re-growth kept dropping periodically. High target area so it’s a complete crown removal / ’pollard’ type job. Off to finish it tomorrow between cremations. Climber was Tom Murray.
  3. Hi guys, a very good friend of mine has asked if I know any tree surgeons in North Hereford. The job is a dead eucalyptus (no surprises there). I’ll enclose a few pictures that were sent to me - If anyone is interested reply to the thread and I’ll forward the link. Many thanks, John.
  4. Done! Here's mine https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Worcester-Tree-Team/103482823069695
  5. Just a few random pictures from Friday…..
  6. Interesting read that, thanks for posting
  7. Must admit those are my favourites as well, was trying out the new (ish) 24-70 2.8 - could play all day with it!
  8. Go for it! I’ll be first in the line to bury you knee-deep in some woodland alongside some Oak & Ash logs
  9. Cheers Andy, I missed the all-day drinking this year (will defo be booking into the T.L next time) still a lovely show
  10. Nice one David, good to see you the other day!
  11. Some random pictures from Capal 2011. The full set will eventually be put here - Capel 2011 - a set on Flickr John.
  12. Threads like these are the reason I hardly spend time on here anymore. Its horrid seeing people you know and admire fall out with one another. Crown Cleaning - FFS Guys! Fall out over something worth falling out over……Like a woman.. ...not terminology!
  13. Playing with my new 24-70 2.8, very pleased with it so far....
  14. Croome Park, Worcestershire 14-03-2011
  15. You should stick that in one of your chippers Pete
  16. I really want them to work, in one form or another. One thing we’ve found out is that when you write down your trigger time ‘off the back of your head’ you vastly over-estimate which obviously leads to inaccurate HAV figures. The units need to be redesigned, they need to be spherical in shape and with stronger magnets. My main fear however is that no-matter what saw you use or how powerful the magnet is, when a saw is revved it’ll hit a certain frequency and its this that causes the unit to drop off. Time will tell….
  17. Update regarding HAV monitoring - I should have known we don’t live in a perfect world – The electronic HAV tags on the 0200’s don’t last 60 seconds when up a tree, the first bump, knock or flick of a branch and they are off – plummeting to the ground. The HAV tag on the new 441 works well, until the saw is revved – then it falls off. They seem to be ok on the other equipment, blowers, pole-saws etc. the big saws haven’t been out yet so more to follow… We’re reviewing methods of attaching the HAV units to the saws but to be honest the manufactures themselves need to redesign the product if they are to be classed as fit for purpose.
  18. I’ve ticked the ‘don’t suffer’ box because we try to adhere to HAV regulations (only in the last 12 months though). I do get very numb fingers when I’m out with the camera in the winter, I’ll put this down to poor circulation for now though.
  19. I dont have one anymore, but if I did she'd have gone nuts, maybe thats why I dont have one anymore...
