  1. This thread has kept me on Arbtalk for the whole evening - Damn you dadio, Damn You!!
  2. Cheers, we had the Gartland brothers in for the day...
  3. Monday was Poplar bashing day at Worcester Race Course with the help of Adrian Hope and his lads. Lovely sunny morning and all went well. The one Poplar had extensive decay, a nasty union and a fair-amount of backward lean (towards a main road). The second I just didn’t like and as it turns out was as hollow as a hollow thing. More pics to follow….
  4. I made a lovely mushroom out of a HUGE block last week….
  5. Tell me about it! Think the fuel pump has gone, total loss of power and then it shuddered to a halt....
  6. Guess what?? 4 weeks into ownership and it broke down today - got a lift home in an AA van!!
  7. In a word, yes you can. I’d cover yourself and your work mate by mentioning it in your risk assessment and as long as it doesn’t become the ‘norm’ I’d think you’d be ok.
  8. Once again guys, thankyou very much!
  9. Super pictures David, great to see them both together!
  10. Hi guys, many thanks for the good wishes, I’m touched, really I am! I’m fighting the good fight at the moment (depression) but as ever I hope to be back to my tree-loving self soon (its way over-due)! Took the children ten-pin bowling this morning and then had a crappy lunch at what used to be our favourite pub (shame things have to change eh?) Thanks again everyone, touched I haven’t been forgotten!
  11. Happy Birthday Jen - Have a great day!!
  12. Happy Birthday dude! (cant get over how quickly that year went-by!)
  13. Job now listed at Arbjobs.com Arbjobs.com - Tree Jobs! - Job Details
  14. Just a heads-up to let you know we’ll be advertising shortly for one possibly two full time Arborists here at Worcester City Council. I have no info of wages yet (as soon as things are official I’ll post full contact details together with salary etc..) I’ll be looking for arbs with all the usual tickets, inc. rigging and of course it would be advantageous if you can drive the truck and my BC1000 chipper! (pre ’97 licence or hold C1+E). Work is varied here at Worcester as we look after most council owned tree stock inc. parks, cemeteries, green open spaces and highway trees. Please drop me a line or watch this thread if your interested. Cheers, John.
  15. Does anyone know what’s exactly involved in a lobotomy???
  16. Its been a while since I posted a few pictures on here, so here’s a few more…..These were taken at a vintage sports club meeting at Prescott, some lovely machinery there and some real characters!
  17. Cheers Geoff, took this on the same walk....
  18. Remember you surrender your copyright for any submitted pictures and the comp is open to anyone as long as the majority of your income does not come from selling photographs, i.e. you’ll get a lot of semi-pro’s entering.
