  1. Is anyone heading to Barchams on 20th. October for the Seminar? Jeremy Barrell and Charles Mynors are doing a talk entitled Trees and the Law, it took my fancy so will be heading down
  2. I did it years ago, highly recommended!
  3. The tree is still there if anyone is interested.....
  4. Now that's a cracking idea! Plenty of bars and accommodation as well! Would also be an ideal venue for the AA and ISA as the location is central in the UK.
  5. An ideal venue to hold your training, event, seminar or conference. I've spent some considerable time photographing this estate and can certainly vouch for its location on the side of the picturesque Cotswolds. Cotswold Conference Centre - Meeting and Training Venue in the Midlands
  6. One I took last week - Whittington Tump, Worcester.
  7. Lovely Mick - Business must be good! Did you tell the wife how much it was?? Sure you've seen my winter-hack but here it is anyways.....
  8. Business & Photography A bit of a shameless plug (hope you don’t mind Steve) A call to all Tree surgery / Arboricultural business – If you would like any jobs recorded and photographed for the promotion of your business please drop me a line. I know from experience that having a dedicated photographer on-site during a big take-down produces much better results. These images can then be used on your web-site and used in promotion material. As long as travelling expenses and a little processing time are covered I’ll be a happy bunny Here are some links to my Facebook pages – https://www.facebook.com/WorcesterTreeTeam https://www.facebook.com/JohnHancock.co.uk All the best, John.
  9. Cheers guys, to be honest I didn’t even contemplate a complete take-down. Large mature Ash trees like this are a rare sight within Worcester, admittedly its not large any more but at least its retained as a feature and will hopefully amble along for some considerable time yet.
  10. Dude, the tree is still standing - you'll have to fly over and cut it down yourself
  11. Hi Martyn, we’ve kept about 12 metres of the tree, complete with a few sap-risers - I don’t like removing them unless its totally necessary.
  12. Took the camera along with us today - Fairly large Ash tree in a public open space with copious amounts of Ganoderma around stem base.
  13. Cheers -all, many thanks Ps.......keep 'em coming
  14. I’m unashamedly pimping my Face Book page - If you can find time to click the ‘like’ button I’d be eternally grateful! https://www.facebook.com/WorcesterTreeTeam Cheers everyone
  15. We have one at work - excellent truck with an excellent towing capacity (it’s the only 4x4 that will tow our BC1000 and MEWP!
  16. An absolute tragic loss of a young life, made worse by the fact that there are many Fathers on here who surely empathise with her and the pain her parents must now be feeling. It’s saddening that many if not all local authorities are cutting back on spending and announcing budget cuts. I was given notice that my job is at risk only last week, along with most of my colleagues. I hope this incident turns out to be an unforeseeable defect / summer branch drop and not a case of a parks tree that has never been inspected or recorded – I’m empathising with the Parks Manager now – I wouldn’t want that on my conscience..
  17. Cheers buddy, we finished it off today – nice load of fire-wood left on-site for someone! Its all gone quiet on the eucalyptus front, if I hear anything I’ll drop you a line.
  18. When is it mate? Would love to come...
