  6. Working on a site today and the groundworkers had put a sheet of damproof membrane in the back of their Transit and filled it with water- on site swimmingpool- if you tip it up you get a shallow and deep end:lol:
  7. Felling 6 large dead trees in Bracknell next week- 4 Oaks, 1 Beech and one Larch. They are all roughly 36inch diameter at breast height and will amount to a very very good arctic load- the lorry must be able to load itself and the access is excellent. The trees are stone dead and have been for a couple of years so possible good only for firewood but may have timber value. Must be collected within the week and transport is up to you. Pm if interested Jon
  8. Had most of the hydraulic grinders up to a rayco rg50 and this little machine is really effortless to use as the wheels stay still and only the head swings- you can swing it one handed if you are so inclined which also means you can move it as fast as you like- no more holding a lever waiting for the head to slowly move from left to right-sold a hydraulic carlton and a newish tracked rayco after getting the bandit(could make the rayco faster if the fast tracking button was pressed when grinding)- each to there own though:001_smile:l
  9. But much slower:001_smile: After getting the sidewinder and using it for a few months we sold our Carlton because the guys never bothered to take it out anymore. Bandit gets used for all our stumps big or small now. Been grinding since 88 and the HB20 has seriously impressed me, and its earning me more money than any other stumpy ive owned- so very happy:biggrin:

  16. Just a quick post to sat thank you for a superb service from Dean at Global. Had a demo on the machine last Thusday, very impressed with the performance of the grinder on a Corsican stump- brought it on the spot but didnt like the yellow colour:001_rolleyes:- At no exrta cost he brought down a green one for us today:001_smile:
  17. Passed that on Friday morning heading up Haldon Hill (A38)
  18. Really sorry to hear about this- it appears to be the same team who hit us in 2010- same method of entry.Police have shown little or no interest:thumbdown:
  19. Looking for a suitably qualifed person to undertake a writen Hazard Tree Assement on a TPO Ailanthus for a client of ours in Epsom, Surrey. Please PM me to discuss:001_smile:
  20. The issues with the reverse drive gearbox is by the time you have added the gearbox, pto shaft and taken into account the need to be able to connect/disconnect the pto shaft when you remove the chipper it tends to push the chipper too far out infront of the Unimog. Far better cashing in your chipper and buying a factory made front mounted one. When you get your new Unimog make sure it is set up suspension wise for carrying implements on the front-many are not. We dont run unimogs any more, after nearly 25 years of the damn things it dawned on me that there are more profitable ways of running my business.
  21. Hi Oldmill, A Qick reply to your questions 1. Yes the TP worked fine with the short spout, but we needed to build the "scoop" above the cab for it to fire into, albeit rather messily. 2. The Jensen chute never blocked, the blow or discharge from the end of the chute had to be seen to be believed, would easily fire the chips another 30 ft behind the unimog. 3. The weights are there to counteract the weight if the Jensen on the front. The chipper weighs about 1.9t- an awful lot of work went into getting the front suspension set up properly- not just a question of popping on a set of heavy duty springs- because the unimog has coil springs it has a panhard rod to stoping the front axle moving sideways-we had to make this adjustable to recentre the front axle with the extra weight on it. 4. The front linkage was a quick, easy option to fitting the TP on the front- in hindsight i would have cut off the 3 point mounting on the TP and welded on a DIN mounting instead-the Comer reverse gearbox is another can of worms!! If i were to do this all again i would go down the route of a 1650 as the longer chassis makes balancing the bigger chippers an awful lot easier- also that Jensen could fill the chip bin in less than 10 mins.
  22. Here you go Hope this works
  23. Over the years ive put, in order, a Farmi 250, Bandit 90, Farmi 250 (again), TP250, and finally a Jensen 141 on ths front of various unimogs- non have any problems whatsoever discharging chip into the rear chip bin- the Jensen could blow the chip another 30ft behind the mog without the aid of any futher modifications to the flywheel fan or addition of blower
  24. Mmmm, quite agree photos can be very deceptive- looks like an ex water board tanker tractor unit
  25. Tidy Mog- But slightly concerned, in the last picture- the tipper subframe appears to be welded to the unimog chassis- wont last very long if you venture off road as defeats the object of a Mog chassis flexing.
