1. see IW Spring Garden Show Chainsaw Carving Competition these carvers and their creations were just amazing and some good money was raised for a local Hospice. If anyone wants to have a great couple of days out in a spring fair, catch some carvers at work soak up some sun listen to great performers in the music stage then stick the 2014 event in your diary. Sadly i didn't have a camera and my phone is old hat hopefully someone else on here will have seen these and taken some photos Les:thumbup:

3. Arborwear and prison blues are both great, very hard wearing with good features etc Both can be found by searching on here. I have over 6 pairs of Arborwear jeans that i use everyday to work, they are in my opinion the best jeans for the non protective side of the industry and in the USA they climb in them.

8. Oregon sell a standard veg oil in the UK called Arborol p/n 104936 in 5lt and p/n 104937 in 25lt this is not to be confused with the milky white Bio oil which was labelled Arborol ultimate which you mixed with water these were p/n 511981 for 5lt and 511980 for 1 lt bottles. We tried to sell this on the back of its environmental benefits but despite some good success stories it was never received well, i put a video and spec on Arbtalk some 3 years ago. I have never see any instruction to add antifreeze but then again in Southern UK i don't see much cold weather, as it was water based once mixed that would make sense. Les
9. Hi From experience as i have cut quite a bit using these saws and have used up 4 complete chains so far. you get approx 200 cuts of 2"-3" wood, about 40 + cuts of 5" depending on density and species. They cut well and are easy to sharpen on the powersharp chain, you get a two year guarantee domestic and 1 yr commercial use. I would buy a spare battery as then you have enough to finish most jobs in one go. They are great for small jobs and small clear up, and when you want to quickly trim up, quietly. The battery will give 1000 charges and is covered by the guarantee, it charges in just under 2 hrs and has a charge indicator built in. These Lithium ion saws have a place in the workplace alongside your mid range petrol saw. I have used for 30+ minutes on and off on one battery charge and whilst cutting hedges. Hope this helps, i know these facts as i sell them to your dealer Les Oregon Area Mgr

404 chain

Correct 13/64 or 5mm files are for half life usage on 3/8 and .404 you start with a 5.5mm 7/32 file then as the tooth narrows at half life change to 13/64 [5mm] It will be interesting just how many only use 7/32 files throughout and have always done.
15. Hope this attachment comes out OK JoeCox_SawChain.pdf
16. D005 bar mount was originally fitted we stopped making this about 15 years ago and replaced it with the D009 pattern, so both are correct for your saw, you would find it hard to locate a D005 mount today.
17. The bar you need for a 181 is as follows using 3/8 1.5mm [.058] 73LPX chain First two digits are the inches length so 13, 15,16, 18 or 20" then use 8SLHD009 so for a 15" bar it's 158SLHD009 or an 18" its 188SLHD009. These are Oregon part numbers and any sponsor on here can supply that bar and chain.
18. No the motor mount patterns are different.

24. Cool tree house and lots of interesting stuff:biggrin:
25. the 240 runs 91vxl chain 3/8 .050 you are trying to run .325 chain on a 3/8 sprocket, the 18" bar will cause the saw to struggle, it is ok with a 14" or 16". thats why the chain will not mesh with the sprocket.
