1. type in McCulloch racing saws in you tube for some nostalgia and serious power
2. Agreed, I sold it to him ! it's like new inside
3. Worlds first 6lb chainsaw and it was a performer, they also made a chain brake version. If only Black & Decker hadn't of bought McCulloch they might have still been a pro saw company. I worked for them [McCulloch that is] for 12 years. After we bought the company back from B&D.

Hi Dave

use the two stage washer under the head [next to the gear box] put head on select washer to centrally locate toothed spline shaft size, [might have to use two washers to space and use blade nut to tighten replace bayonet fit black plastic dome and you should be good to go. Did you get a 4 line version ? load line from large hole end thru to only 1/2" past other side, i would use the Red 4mm techniblade for best results and any nylon line around trees you want to keep and walls, put all lines in water before use to rehydrate them they last longer after this

5. For those can make it on Thursday and Friday this week is the Confor Woodland show, lots of stands, exhibitors, demo's and shiny things to treat yourselves to to. Venue is Longleat estate in Wiltshire see you there Les:thumbup:
6. Great to see loads of old faces today at the show, and the weather was spot on, for those who can visit tomorrow to support your industry here in the south, come on down. Here's to another good day tomorrow Les:biggrin:
7. will be on my Oregon stand for you, see you there Les
8. Are you going to Jonesies show ? I have a couple of donor 170/171 you can have for parts just let me know and i'll throw them on board, a cold drink is the payment required.
9. How many teams have we got ? Are the Champions making a defence appearance ? Will Mendip John bring 3 teams ? powered on Cider ? Are the Bigs boys in it again with Green power The climbers did well last time they might have been smaller but they were strong ! So come on and have some fun, get it sorted with a few mates to make a team of 5 and register when you arrive on Friday, The fun will commence around 6.pm on Friday and all proceeds go to the help for heroes charity. Fancy dress is an option [keep it clean]
10. I hope you have asked for a warranty on these from where you bought them, Oregon stand by their products, if you haven't why not ? if you have did you get a new pair of boots ? Les
11. Give Simmonds Saws a ring on 01428 707269 they have all the parts you need, from memory it's 1 1/4 each to start then fine tune, don't over tighten when closing and use a small screwdriver with a clip or marked point on handle to get the 360 view. Running without an air filter will change the mix a lot, and suck crap into the carb. Then its a good clean out, possible blast with an ultrasonic cleaner and new pump and gasket set. Good luck if your on a budget
12. Hi all so for all who can pull a rope here's your chance to have some fun and raise money for the help for heroes charity. Teams of 5 cost £15.00 entry all monies go to charity all you have to do is register your team during the day at the show [in the FR Jones tent] and at 5.30 the fun begins, two years ago the boys from the North won the trophy, can they attend for some fun and to defend their title as champions. So get together, teams of 5 big, small, come all and for a good cause, and lets get the Arb event tug o war on the map. Whos up for this ?
13. What a difference a year makes ! a real buzz for both days, smiling faces, exhausted stands, good attendance and even the weather in the main was good. How's about making this show 3 days and every other year to coincide with the APF, a bigger show, more people and add marketing to Landscapers as they are linked and many have a cross over to Arb, you could add Forestry/pole climbers/carvers etc to attract the woodies as well. Better approach roads, easy in/out, so well done. Bits missing extra caterers /Hog roast/ more toilets/more large machinery demo's [you have the space] lets see a chip out and cranes etc working. Interested to know the scores thru the door for each day, looked busiest Arb show in last 6 yrs IMO

15. NO mate I don't work for the AA I am the Oregon area manager for the south, Kent to Cornwall, Northern Ireland, CI and the IOM. Shows will die without support regardless of whose show it is or where, how many Arbtalk members are there ? and how many people attend on average the Arb show ? I'm sure Steve can answer this one, and of course it is hard for people who are in the far corners of the land, that's why i'd like to see it move around like the APF used to. Les
16. How many Arbtalkers will make the effort to attend our industry shows, at present there are so many threads on here in relation to past shows poorly attended, manufacturers changes in distribution policy and lots of new products being launched to the market. Where better a place to see, hear, discuss and of course take advantage to make your purchase face to face than the shows. Next week is the Arb show in Cirencester on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th take advantage of this and enjoy the craic with your suppliers and fellow Arbtalkers, it's your show which needs your support. See you there:thumbup:
17. Hi Mate is Alex on here ? that bit of kit looks just the job, it doesn't matter for spillage as you know it's in a wood, i will give him a call, Are the current tug o war champions coming down for Jonesies show this year ? Now you have another reason as you were all there last time. Thanks for the idea Les
18. Hi all Several years ago a group of Arbtalkers visited the Penshurst off road centre known as PORC to see the huge seven sisters tree and the amazing wooden long house built from trees in the same wood. Now nearing completion Mike Westphall who owns it has asked if it could be possible to blow woodchip onto the roof using a powerful chipper to finish the roof, so i'm asking all Arbtalkers for suggestions as to how we can get tonnage of chip up on the roof and will it be visible to a TV camera in the air ? You see Mike is getting the TV boys back to see the completion. I have suggested to him to invite carvers to also have a carving comp there with a auction sell off at the end again on TV with the proceeds going to Help for Heroes and Kent Air Ambulance. So anyone interested ? ideas ? want to help ? which chipper is powerful enough to do this ? any carvers interested in a two day carve fest with camping etc thrown in and an auction at the end of your work ? May i suggest that during this event a free climb at the PORC woodland takes place as a free get together with a camp over available as well so Arbtalkers get to see/be part of this. Naturally as Jones show is down the road a trip across to see this can also be arranged, ask anyone who went last time if they think it's worth it. i look forward to sending on your ideas to Mike at PORC

20. Hi i visited someone near Penryn yesterday, they have two trees that need work, one part dismantle and the other a reduction. This is in a guest house next to a beach in a wild part of Cornwall, at my suggestion he may do a deal for part cash/part free stay TBC, this is a stunning place and more work will follow from the surrounding big houses. Anyone interested and can show insurance etc pm me and i'll give you his contact details. Les
