  1. Not tree related but to those who have an eye for them, a private plate can be a very good form of investment. One of my closest school friends is called Mackfall. He used to drive around in a 911 4s with the reg 911MAC. He bought it for 7k and sold for 14 when he wanted a new extension on his gaff. As I said he had an eye for it. He purchased the following for IIRC 250gbp each, sold them for 750GBP each. HA52CUT - Has 2 cut, sold to a barber. HA52BUY - Has 2 buy, sold to the barber for his wife who was a spendaholic. HA52??? - Random plate in sequence he sold to the barber for his son so he didnt feel left out. So he sold for 2250 quid after shelling out 750 for each one. He seemed happy when I spoke to him last, he must have put the money he made into that PEN15 enlargement op he had always wanted.
  2. James, we rigged the crown out the day before, but we were a man down, so no time for pictures. It was a lump of a tree but had been heavily rj'd about 15 years ago. Probably, only about 55' max to the tips but it was quite stout.
  3. The cut goes under many a name. I know it as the Coos Bay cut. To be used for a heavy head leaner to stop it barber chairing. Basically, the tree pops of the sump/stem and goes where gravity takes it.
  4. Oak lump.
  5. Fnar, Fnar... Nice Carl.
  6. Surely, a sentence like that should be on one of those 'other forums' mate http://www.bondagetalk.co.uk
  7. Sorry Adam, cannot help you on numbers but I did this course last year and it is excellent. Well worth doing and full of the practical and useful stuff that could save a life.

  9. Ply is a great idea. Once you have it bought it does for roofs, windows and we have even covered green houses with it. Also lined the walls in house and put dust sheets over them to protect the decor for this dreaded through the house.

  11. Having used both quite extensively, I would opt for the 220 over the 190. In my not so expert opinion, It was just better to use. I am sure someone more engineering based will be able to give you answers. Although I never timed them as I am not that sad, they both filled a 7.5t truck with ease. I seem to recall less snedding for the 220.

  13. Can you expand on that mate pls? I was under the impression that you had to have to chain connected to the truck... at least that is what I was told years ago. Cheers.

  19. Cheers for the heads up. One of the guys I work for was knocked last week. During a stormy night, they cleared him of all power tools and a number of climbing kits. They also did another tree surgeon who shares the yard.

  22. A couple of pics from February this year. Knackered beech dismantle. Most of the tree was cut and chucked but I rigged the timber.
