  1. A friend had these thought for him. He should have had ground boots as he isn’t a climber. they do look pretty good though. Fairly light and holding up well to ground work. 5. Thanks. Why don’t you just rub salt into my wounds?

  8. They are great. I have used the electric felco’s a lot. The only problem is once you touch the button they will close. So be careful. A friend of mine pretty much took his thumb off with one. Managed to sew it back in but he still has nerve and circulation problems.

  10. That’s what I thought. I ordered from Swazi NZ. When I put in the delivery address (London) it almost halved in price. Probably something to do with local taxes and they can’t charge VAT. With delivery it was 180 quid and arrived in 7 days. I only wear it on the wettest of days but I bought it in 2017 before I moved to Norway. I have washed and reproofed it a couple of times but still does the job.
  11. That’s the one. Even has hi vis strips for roadside compliance.

  14. No machinery today…. Only manpower. Half the tree crapped itself as it split in two and took out the power line and went into a stream. That was a while back. Today we had to rig down the still standing side. Cable and a couple of outbuilding to avoid so we rigged everything back into the woodland.

  16. If you have at it and something goes wrong and you pull a line down. Fell everything else that could have potentially hit the cable before you call the supplier. Speaking from experience (kind off).

  23. My first bit of advice is to quit using the term ‘Sub out’. You won’t be a Bonafide Sub contractor but if you use those terms, companies you work with will say that you need your own insurance. Insurance companies will gladly take the money from you for your subbing activities. Might as well send the money to me. You would have more chance of a payout than from the company who sold it to you. Use the term Freelance climber or Contract climber. There are countless threads in here explaining the difference between a bonafide Sub Contractor and Freelance labour who provide their own tools. Good luck.
