  1. Now I can’t see the other side of the fjord, it’s a white out. Dumping with snow. Just about to go up to the hunting ground and see if I can bump a few deer with the dog to drive them towards a mate who is sat their freezing on a post.

A mate of mine down Crawley way took a load back from a job. Stuck them in the ground about a metre apart and made a nice plan with side routes and run offs. Within a couple of years he had pleached or platted the tops together and made a mini tunnel network in his garden. The kids loved playing in there.

  7. Get that checked mate. Thats what hit my mother. 57 years old. Pop. 5 hours later pronounced dead. That was Nov 2002. The upside of the tragedy was her brothers and sisters were all checked and 4 of them had similar issues.

  9. No not Donk. Harry, worked for Adam. Top lad. Robin was a unit as well. So was Sam and Adam.
  10. My old, fat Groundy was a strongman. I don’t think I could have hurt him if I tried. He was like a human Avant.
  11. How so? Intrigued to understand why that triggered you?
  12. I live in Norway and most wood is Birch but plenty burn pine and spruce. Birch IMO is over rated. I also stash any dead elm, oak, ash and fruit trees for my own stash. I have had barely a shovel worth of soot out of my chimney in the last 7 years. Just don’t let it smoulder and have a hot burn.
  13. Been there a few times with the camera. I currently hold the record amongst my friends for the most inches. The guy on the end of the camera seemed a bit perplexed when I asked quite keenly how far did you get up there. May as well make light of a not so pleasant experience.
  14. I use whale blubber. Not really but a lot of the blokes and ladies use it here in Norway. Same as they coat there truck chassis and tractors with Pig fat.
  15. Nice vid. Regarding the directional gobs…. How would you have done it? I would have thought they were pretty obvious. I use gobs quite a lot to steer limbs. Don’t often use a GRCS I just pretension with a fat Groundy or two and then use that to hold the limb and let the hinge and gravity do the hard work.

  18. My Bashlin Alloys must be knocking in 20years old now. I have replaced the top Velcro pads and in my second set. Could do with a new set tbh. Bottom strap tore last year so I stuck some others I found. A friend had some ones h used for his Buckingham spikes. Worked a treat and good as new. Or at least they will be once I buy another set of top Velcro pads. I have toyed with the idea of getting some newer ones. I’ve tried a few other brands but none feel as comfy as the Bash Alloys. Plus the cost of them. “Holy empty wallet Batman”. I think I paid about 280 quid for my Bashlins. Now they are mega moolah!
  19. No definitely not inside out. Running a VT makes the rope twist as it goes through the braids. You can alleviate it a bit by doing the braids over-under, under- over but there will still be some twist. I did stick a swivel on my bridge thinking it would help the last bit of twist but it made it 10 times worse so I took it off and sold it. I have seen people integrate a swivel into the BDB, Rope wrench, roperunners and other SRT devices. I just wanted to see a picture of the new RRV with a swivel.
  20. I used to use a swivel in my VT and removed it quicker than it took to fit it to my bridge. They are not for me as the exacerbated a small problem of the ropes twisting into a bigger problem. I have always kept away from them since. I have been on Roperunners now since the first editions. I just wondered how it would be integrated into the new Notch RR. Does it still cause horrendous twisting of the rope?
  21. Wordle 1,267 4/6 ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ 🟩⬛⬛⬛⬛ 🟩🟩⬛⬛⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I will take that as I have a bit of a massive hangover.
  22. Is the swivel useful? Do you like the swivel? Or did you just use it because you could? Could you post a picture of it?
  23. where did you that picture of my old gaylander from? You bitch!
  24. I remember Mr Spoon. A few years later, in our late teens, myself and quite a few friend regularly went to the moon. Usually after a morning of mushy pickiing.
  25. I went into an ENT clinic after lots of problems with my ears. They stuck a camera up my nose and asked if I had ever broken it. Yes I replied, maybe 5 or 6 times. He replied I can see that as well as a detached septum. That was the cause of a lot of ear problems for me apparently. I got some nose spray and was told if it didn’t get better he would break my nose. I went back 6 months later and told him it was better. My ears are still ****************ed but I didn’t get my nose broken for the 7th time.
