  1. That just doesn't happen, a good climber will always have work. Often firms will pay them climbing rate for ground work, just to keep them around.
  2. In the first lockdown, probably the only proper lockdown, the roads were dead, it was surreal. Like something from a movie. We never stopped working, so was great traveling on empty roads. We had a few road side jobs, they were a dream with no traffic.

Yep and the majority take the vaccine, bit of a no brainer really.

So they are not necessarily the best example of healthy choices.

I recall back in the days when smoking was common, being amazed at the numbers of medical staff puffing away outside hospitals, I guess you have never seen a fat nurse? And there's an old joke, when the Dr asks how much you drink, the easy answer is "less than you".
  6. Yes but the post I quoted mentioned "stove regs" so I was talking about what's lawful.
  7. We really don't need to know about your personal life.
  8. My main line is 45meters, I set it maybe 10ft from the top and was over 20ft short and needed a second line to come down for lunch. You do the maths. I maybe many things, but I ain't no bullshiter. Where are your pic's?
  9. He's 6'3" and you are wrong. knob.
  10. You CANNOT!! burn plastic and other waste. You can burn woody material that has grown on THE SITE. This releases no more carbon than letting it rot. And less than chipping it and then letting it rot.
  11. Thank you 😋 I also think in congested areas where there is traffic and pedestrians, when you get so high up, I feel disconnected from my groundie and feel much more nervous about dropping stuff. I roped stuff down on this one, which I very seldom do. My groundie is my eldest son, he did a great job, in difficult circumstances 👍
  12. Did ok for weather, was very cold last week, but dry and lovely on Monday when we finished. The hard part was over a rat run side road and the pavement.
  13. Pop reduction, around 3meters off the sides and 1meter off the top. Genuinely over 100ft, don’t do many trees this big. Forgot to take any before pic’s, sorry.
  14. Wow! I didn't realise your drinking had been so bad. No wonder you feel better for giving it up! 👍
  15. Stumpbusters who are a national franchise over here, never remove any grindings, as you say "makes life easier".

You appear to contradict yourself, are physical shops and hospitality dead? or can we return to normality? I believe physical shops and hospitality will bounce back. And people will appreciate them all the more. Why has no country on the planet followed your proposed option? As I posted earlier, I don't believe it would be possible to isolate and protect only the most vulnerable, our society is simply just not built that way, plus they would most likely not do as asked. Its OK saying they would be no worse off than now, but people don't work like that. People will endure terrible hardship if they feel everyones in the same boat, but inequity causes great discontent. Also people seem fixated on the deaths, when it comes NHS pressure, those who survive represent the greatest workload. So it's not just about the old and infirm who are killed.
  19. Trees within a CA are not automatically TPO'd if they are over a certain size. Trees can be in a CA and also TPO'd. All trees within a CA, over a certain size, are protected, but not TPO'd. Before you carry out any work on a none TPO'd tree with the CA you must inform the council of the intended work, including felling. The council then has 6 weeks to TPO the tree, if they don't you can carry out the work. Often councils try to amend the intended work or put a replant condition on the work. They have no power to do this. The only thing they can do is prevent the work, by serving a TPO on the tree or trees.
  20. If its a conservation area it's a "notification" not an application.

If after the best part of a year of this you can't work it out, I ain't gonna waste my time trying.

People who argue against the lockdown and point out the very OBVIOUS very, very negative health affects of lockdown still haven't given a satisfactory alternative, IMO. The NHS would simply have been overrun, leading to possibly worse and long-lasting negative health outcomes. Plus we would have lost the hearts and minds of the NHS staff. They would have felt utterly abandoned and taken for granted. They will no doubt come back with the old "Oh you just protect the vulnerable" well firstly that's simply not possible. Our society is simply not built that way, it's like asking someone to remove the mortar from a wall, but leave the wall standing. Plus the reason the less vulnerable survive it due to the excellent medical treatment they receive. The current average age of people in ICU is 65 and the very old and vulnerable don't ever go into ICU.

I find your inability to grasp the very basics of viral spread, after nearly a year of this is utterly staggering.
