  1. Fell Them!fell Them All! only kidding! I would remove the ash and plant something smaller and pollard the willow.
  2. I work mostly with one none saw using groundie,so rope down very little.I cut ever thing in the tree there is no more sawdust overall as it will need cutting at some stage and sometimes if the dust distributed further you can nip round with the blower and blow of paths, sheds ect, there can be less work. I think we all have our own style and should do what suits us best, there are many way of doing something right:cheers:
  3. GOOD GOD! are you not worried about white finger?
  4. BUZZ The 071 is run from the mog hydraulics, and works well, has full lift, if a little slow. The new crane requires much higher pressure,330 bar!,so will be run by a pump that will clip onto the rear PTO,also the new crane need much more oil,140L tank and that is with an oil cooler.

  7. think you just need to mark for id,so you're inspections can be logged.
  8. I think you have to put youself and you familys security first,if there is a chance someone is going to put you or them selves in danger you can't take the risk.
  9. Their a good machines, some folk slag them off but, they would not be so popular if they were not good,i had a chippit 25 served me well for 8 year, sold it on and its still going strong, post some pic's.
  10. Here's some pic's of my setup doing a large pop on saturday, saves a lot of work,at least a day,the new crane is going on the same trailer.
  11. Topping a tree to make it "safe"is IMO butchery.
  12. Whats this got to do with butchering trees in the name of tree surgery?
  13. Sadly most gardeners have no idea how to prune a tree,on gardener question time one radio 4 they recomend painting wounds!
  14. How could they?who would pay for admin?
  15. If you leave a tree to grow out of shape its nature is to follow the light in turn it can lead to a one sided over balenced tree they do not self balance. When this happens limbs can break away from the tree resulting in infection and inevitabily death. I cut for the benifit of the tree more than the owner they understand this and prefer it around here. This is just my method many may not agree . I think i've heard this before it is usually followed,by a price to"make the tree safe".
