  2. If you read page 3 of the third link of the five,it say "use of chainsaws in tree work" and lists exempcitions, one of which is using a saw before 1998.
  3. If you read the links, you will find it states you do not need tickets if you have been using a saw since before Dec 1998,therefore the fact that i have tickets at all clearly shows how conscientious i am, as i have gone above and beyond the requirements of the law:icon14::wave:
  4. Makes me think of the film "American beauty"
  5. I fail to see the connection between the felling of two historic specimen trees, and the cutting back, pruning, felling, topping or what ever of mainly hedgerow and other common place trees? Thats like comparing the demolition of a council estate with the demolition of a stately home:heeeelllllooooo:
  6. Nice one!!!!!! I took my tickets before 1998 so im sorted for life, looks like being old ain't so bad!!!
  7. High speed tractor, with air brakes and suspention can do 40 mph.
  8. A normal tractor without air brakes and suspension should not go more than 20 mph on the road. I was told years ago by a traffic cop that the requirements for going on the Mway are capable of doing more than 25 mph on the flat under you own steam, more than 50cc and road compliant ie mud guards, lights, etc. I have been stopped on the Mway in a mog,i was done for being over weight, they made no mention of my being on the Mway, but i know of someone who have been given a fixed penalty,3 points and a £80 fine, for being on the Mway in a mog.
  9. It'll have to be a long vid,or time laps, any one can beat a splitter for 10 minuets, but not for 2 or 3 hours or try racing a splitter on twisty Elm.
  10. Ain't that the truth!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. No its not the weight of the extra seats, larger cab, etc, that is the main problem, its load distribution, with a crew cab you end up with all the pay load over the rear axel,if you put 5-6 cub in you will be well over loaded IMHO.
  12. How you manage that? I'm on my 5th pair and never had more than 12 months out of a pair:bawling:
  13. I want one for behind my mog!!!
  14. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wounder our insurance is so expensive
  15. So true,i feel one of the most important things we can do is always climb with a rope that is long another to get you down in one(more important than a climbing groundie IMO),and keep a clear line for a quick decent, adrenalin will give you a minuet or two, even with a serious injury.
  16. Took my test in 87,pretty sure mine is 8.4 ton max ie,7.5 ton truck plus 900kg trailer.
  17. Very true! You will not find a truck that fulfills all you regiments, the mog ticks most of my boxes, the last 9 days we have been clearing a disused railway line, all chip had to be removed,we had very poor access points and had to be able to cross the tracks, what else would do that job?
  18. Ed's right,I've had to replace the hub gears in my front axel £600 each plus labour, seals, etc
